foil the syndicate's scheme to retrieve her? (Elex adds that the de-aged Kudo Shinichi—on a perennial Busman's Holiday because, you know, no matter where he goes, people die
—also needs to solve a murder in which “Satan” figures as the primary suspect in this here volume of Aoyama Gosho's Meitantei Conan, AKA Case Closed.)
Before moving on to the other detective pair, let's dive first into some Heartwarming Hilarious —

The Great Detective KIYOSHIRO YUMEMIZU 9 by Enue Kei and Hayamine Kaoru
The fantastically rich family of Yamada Aloha vanishes one after another on Christmas, and The Great Detective Kiyoshiro Yumemizu is summoned to solve the mystery. Wherever his conviction leads this meitantei and his deductive powers cannot be doubted, and fortunately, YuKi deciphers the mystery... in his sui generis yet non-confidence inspiring style.
Okay, that's the second detective above the line. Let's try for three below.

The Phantom Of The Opera 3rd Murder
by Elex Media
Elex releases the first of two volumes of Kindaichi Special Case: The Phantom Of The Opera 3rd Murder, part of Amagi Seimaru's iteration of the original Kindaichi Case Files manga, the Fair Play Whodunnit that TV Tropes observes supplies more violent versions of The Scooby Doo Hoax — stemming from legendary monster killers faithfully following legend scripts.
And as given away by the duology's title, the fabled monster here is Le Fantôme de l'Opéra:
Kindaichi Hajime revisits Opera House hotel, scene of two serial killings. In a gruesome third time's a charm, another murder takes place, the crime laid squarely at the foot of “The Phantom of the Opera.” Meanwhile, Tokyo homicide inspector Kenmochi, rarely the definition of unreliable, has disappeared.

What causes earthquakes?
How do airplanes fly?
How come the sun looks red at sunset?
These are just some of the questions posed (and answered) in Crayon Shinchan: Keajaiban Ilmu Pengetahuan (“Crayon Shin-chan: The Marvels of Science”), in which the late Usui Yoshito-sensei's eponymous protagonist is supposed to help the target demographic (Elex suggests “kodomo, especially those in early grade-school”) learn some (at the cost of IDR 25,800/book).
The Elex Book Review editor further points out that the language is easy
and the facts, fascinating.
(I'm more fascinated by the fact that Elex has licensed Crayon Shin-chan—only ever encountered as bootleg—even if it's only as edu-manga.)
One last volume preview—for volume 24 of Godhand Teru, Yamamoto Kazuki's medical shounen drama nominated for this year's Mobile Phone Comic Award—huddles after the manga list.
MANGAZINES: Shonen Star 67/2010
Kekkaishi © Tanabe Yellow
Shogakukan/Shonen Sunday
Shonen Star Issue 67 is on an advanced sked — wonder why? Issue 66 just went on sale last week. Well, whatever the reason, Kekkaishi's barrier master Yoshimori is the cover boy— OK, so he shares the billing with Aloof Big Brother Masamori. (I apologize for mistakenly reporting this as one of Shonen Star 66's highlights. Pwease forgive?)
Recycling the preemptive blurb:
Wannabe patissier and the Sumimura clan's 22nd kekkaishi Yoshimori takes on Kaguro, a strong ayakashi clothed in human skin. Yoshimori can just barely defend himself against the master Kokuboro fighter (that TV Tropes describes as a really obvious homage to [Rurouni Kenshin's] Shishio Makoto
), prompting Dude Looks Like A Lady Yagyō troop member Kagemiya to risk his life to aid Yoshimori. A stoopid brave act that triggers Yoshimori's ...
(The word you're looking for is Zekkai; go here if you really want the prelim [SPOILAGE!])
Shonen Star's newest Kekkaishi will just have to tide you over until Elex releases the latest tankou. (Unless you read simplified Chinese, in which case Chuang Yi has you covered; CY's latest is volume 28.)
