IDR 16,500 (approx. USD 1.81) and IDR 18,500 (USD 2.03) are the new price standards.
Starting July, Elex Media, Level Comics and m&c! up manga and manhwa¹ prices. Elex Media and m&c! cite soaring paper costs as the reason for the upward adjustment.

Manga already in stores will be adjusted to the new standards beginning August.
Elex's regular manga anthologies—HanaLaLa, Nakayoshi Gress!, Shonen Magz and Shonen Star—will remain at pre-hike IDR 27,000 prices, albeit with a reduction in pages. Shonen Star and Shonen Magz appear to be on a twice-monthly release schedule beginning June (ShoStar) and July (ShoMagz). Shonen Star Issue 66 and 67 both released in June, with #68 and 69 slated for July. Shonen Magz Issues 73 and 74 are penciled in for the same month.
¹ I assume even Level- and m&c!'s Franco-Belgian bande dessinée/BDs (AKA ROMICs and AMERO comics), as well as m&c!'s Hong Kong manhua will likewise be affected.
Popular manga affected include best-sellers Naruto, Detektif Conan and One Piece (published by Elex Media); Perfect Girl Evolution and Fight!! Ippo (Level Comics); and Bleach (m&c!).
The last time Elex and m&c! implemented a price hike was back in May 2009, when prices rose from IDR 13,800 to IDR 15,000 for the same increased production costs reason.
