Bleach 34, Love So Life 1, Oresama Teacher 2 (m&c! 22 September 2010 manga) [UPDATED]

Added m&c!'s summaries and covers per promise. And yup, wild card Graffiti of Love IS Rakugaki no Shita.

Love So Life 1 (m&c!)

Love So Life © Kouchi Kaede/Hakusensha [Serialized in Hana to Yume]
Published in Indonesia by PT Gramedia/m&c!

But before the series premieres, Ichigo—rather, Nel—first:

Ex-Tres Espada Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck gives Rangiku stiff competition in Rubenesque models AND nearly wipes the floor with fifth-ranked Espada Nnoitra Jiruga. Nearly as she reverts to her kiddy form at the last second.

Nnoitra, merciless on any given day, retaliates, grinding Nel's li'l head under his Call the Fashion Police! boots before kicking her as far as the Arrancar home team's goal. Despite his wounds, Ichigo tries to protect Nel, an attempt doomed to #Fail as Nnoitra's Fraccion Tesla is waiting to finish him off. Read moar in Bleach 34: The King of The Kill. [Irreverent blurb adapted from Wiki- and Bleach Wiki's synops]

NEW M&C! TITLES: Shoujo ♡ asplosion!

Almost half of m&c!'s 22 September list was blueprinted to lure shoujo/soonjung fangirls (and boys) into parting with money “saved” from the recent 2 × no manga deliveries. Four new manga and manhwa series (the latter priced at IDR 18,500 each) launch next Wednesday: Love So Life 1 by Kouchi Kaede, Kimi ga Suki ~ I Love You ~ 1 of 3 by Watanabe Ayu, Secret 1 by Han YuRang and Memory Eater 1 of 2 by Kang KyungNam. A quartet of standalones also accompanies: the intriguingly-titled My Dinosaur Dentist by Morio Masami, Salon For a Broken Heart by Ayumi Rin, Graffiti of Love by Sugata Uri and Sparkling Charm by Nakajima Yuka.

Reserving this Above The Fake Cut space for Love So Life that, along with Oresama Teacher 2, nearly dethroned Bleach as top DO WANT! But I also list the tags (thanks Baka-Updates Manga) associated with the new titles for Impatient Ones who want the deets NOW (refer to right sidebar).

Graffiti of Love (Shy girl, Transformation, Music, Band)
Kimi ga Suki ~ I Love You ~ (Love Triangle, Childhood Friends)
Memory Eaters (Shinigami, Bishounen)
My Dinosaur Dentist (Scary Dentist)
Salon For a Broken Heart (Red Thread of Fate, Twins, Red Hair, Variations on a Theme)
Secret (Orphans, Rich Family, Death)
Sparkling Charm (Popular Boy, Otaku)

Love So Life 1 of 5+ by Kouchi Kaede

Orphan Nakamura Shiharu, who dreams of one day running her own daycare, trades a part-time job at a preschool for a stint babysitting twin toddlers Akane-chan and Aoi-kun — after their bishie TV personality uncle Matsunaga Seiji offers double her current pay to take care of the little monsters angels. Shiharu rises to the challenge, drawing on lessons “learned” from mom to fill in the parenting blanks. Predictably, it's not long before Shiharu grows to love her faux family — up to and including...

So, Age Gap, Childcare, Family, Orphan, Twins, Babysitter. My own “warning”: Sugar Shock and Terminal Keeyootness (not just the Seiji kind).

If you're so inclined to track it down, a Love So Life drama CD released commercially last March. Seiyuu Noto Mamiko (Sawako, Kimi ni Todoke anime) and Ono Daisuke (Sebastian Michaelis, Kuroshitsuji II) voiced Shiharu and Seiji.

New m&c! titles continued...

Graffiti of Love by Sugata Uri

Okabe provides the one light in model student Machiko's marginalized middle school life; his niceness makes the bullied geek fall hard for him. But painful shyness prevents Machiko from telling Okabe that she likes him.

Upon entering senior high, however, Machiko effects a personality makeover; now a vocalist for a band, she vows to grab friendship, music fame and most of all — love!

Sugata Uri-sensei also created Apricot Sour Choudai (the other Graffiti of Love candidate before m&c!'s Rakugaki no Shita confirmation) and Aijou Countdown, currently serialized in Dessert.

Kimi ga Suki ~ I Love You ~ 1 of 3 by Watanabe Ayu

Murakami Aki finally summons enough courage to confess to Mase, her basketball club-mate, only to be “blocked” by Koichi, a basketball cager from another school who declares his feelings for her. Staying faithful to her first love should've presented no problems, except circumstances alters cases, leaving Aki torn between Mase and Koichi, whose future now looks bleak, thanks to Aki.

I thinks I need to raise the Kleenex alert here...

Watanabe Ayu-sensei also created the L-DK school life romance comedy and the Otomegokoro drama, Betsufure serials like Kimi ga Suki.

Memory Eater 1 of 2 by Kang KyungNam

Memory eaters prey on human memories. Captivated by mortal reminiscences, these former death emissaries sent to extract memory from human souls now mine the commodity for themselves, earning banishment and a new name: Exile. One such Exile is Dio, but unlike other outcasts, he resorts not to memory theft.

Ha Enwoo has always had problems remembering things; lately, it has become so severe, she even forgets how to get to school. But is she merely forgetful, or are her memories being siphoned off by memory eaters? Were that the case, which of the two bishounen hanging around her is responsible?

My Dinosaur Dentist by Morio Masami

My Dinosaur Dentist (m&c!)

Kyouryuu no Haisha-san
© Morio Masami/Hakusensha
Published by m&c! as
My Dinosaur Dentist

Originally the LaLa DX serial Kyouryuu no Haisha-san, My Dinosaur Dentist is a 99.99% GET!, based simply on the Morio Masami brand (The Extra Kobayashi, Caramel Boy and Sweet Sweet Darling manga-ka). Still, if you want a preview —

Hideko's cavity blues send her... dragging her feet to the dental clinic. Her reluctance springs from Kai—the dentist she believes belongs in the same family tree as carnivorous dinosaurs—treating her toothache. (The “S” cover on the left hints she may be on to something T. Rex-ish there.) Around wielding a shrill drill and reinventing dental trauma, Kai “promotes” Hideko to membership in the Dinosauria superorder, nicknaming her “Forgetasaurus.”

If Kai is such a bleeping *bleep*, how come when Hideko sees him getting close to his assistant, her H. sapiens heart blares out alarms? Has she (horrors!) actually fallen for Dr. Kai?

Salon For a Broken Heart by Ayumi Rin

Salon For a Broken Heart equals Shitsuren Biyoushitsu, the Unrequited Love Beauty Parlor. The Sho-Comi omnibus compiles Ayumi Rin's variations on a theme shorts Salon For a Broken Heart, Until You Say You Love Me, Just a Little More Love, The Color of Your Destiny and Mobius Heartbreak.

My preliminary reaction: Forget the title story—about a girl who violates her school's hair code to attract her teacher's attention, only to find out that sed Sensei is transferring out—the fifth one-shot, Mobius Heartbreak, about a girl (Kirie), who makes an appointment at the Salon for the Heartbroken because of her ill-starred love for her sib, promises a more rewarding read. (But that's just me; your mileage may vary.)

For snap summaries of stories 2-4, go here.

Ayumi Rin-sensei's other works include Renai Kyoushuujo; Hoshii no wa, Anata Dake; and Kiss Yori mo Ijiwaru, also one-volume shoujo anthologies.

Secret 1 of 10 by Han YuRang

Gwak Bo Eun's dad gives her a grisly present on her 16th birthday: his suicide. His last wish sends Bo Eun to living in the palatial home of twins Na Hae Ri and Na Hae Rang after he passes away.

The still mourning Bo Eun attempts stoicism to hold back her tears, but they splash down anyway, especially after she meets Choi Mu Hyul. The pretty boy promises to do everything in his power to make Bo Eun smile again, and help her discover why her dad took his own life in the first place.

Of course you already know that Han YuRang is also the manhwa-ga of Female Wolf's Boy (volume 5 scheduled for a 29 September release) and Sandwich Girl.

Sparkling Charm by Nakajima Yuka

A former Cherry serial, Sparkling Charm or Kirakira Hikare has heroine Mizuno Iruka getting the shock of her life when crush Moriyama-kun—whom she has never spoken to—confesses his love for her! But it appears that Moriyama-kun is hiding a secret...

Nakajima Yuka-sensei also created the love letter-troped Waratte Himiko-san.

Continuing series volume previews

Beyond the Beyond 5 of 6 by Watanabe Yoshitomo

Foreordained 13 years ago...
Today, “Virid” becomes one...

If you find m&c!'s blurb a bit too minimal (original here)—considering this is the penultimate (that took almost a year to reach)—I'm borrowing a bit of Chuang Yi's There, Beyond The Beyond 5 synopsis to help refresh your memory:

Virid returns to his country to resolve a long standing issue with his elder brother. Pushed to their limits by forces beyond their control, the twin crown princes find surprising help from where they least expect....

Dawn Aria 5 of 10+ by Akaishi Michiyo

A recent Tokyo earthquake leaves Aria no choice but to seek refuge in the Nishimikado family home, and Natsuo no respite from his turbulent feelings for Aria.

The Ghost Conqueror 4 of 8+ by Sakondou Eri

After the “grueling” final exams for the reincarnated — summer vacation! Yuuki, the reincarnation of Peach Boy Momotaro, is invited by Sawa's parents to spend the holidays with them. On this, his first real vacation, Yuuki learns...

Go! Hiromi Go! 3 of 8 by Asou Mikoto

Poor Hideki! A fun skiing vacation becomes a distant dream when Hiromi suddenly disappears!

Hang in there, Hideki! Just console yourself thinking: what else can you expect from a former nerd who wants to shuck her dweeby past?

Idol Shopping 3 of 12 by Hwang MiRee

Bully victim defender Kang Song Yie, who assumes her brother Ahul's identity to investigate her twin's attempted suicide, quails from the sharp gaze of school dictator Seo Ga Yoon. But when she reverts to her girl self and meets Ga Yoon, he all but pounces on her.

Relentless romantic overtures, however, can't compare with the escalating harassment Song Yie as Ahul experiences at the hands of her classmates, which prompts roommate Hwang Se Ryun into swearing that he will become “Ahul's” slave — if she can tough out the bullying and stay in school.

Oresama Teacher 2 of 8+ by Tsubaki Izumi

Disgraced yanki Kurosaki Mafuyu's attempt to leave behind her juvie delinquent past and live a normal girly school life is thwarted at every turn by homeroom teacher Saeki Takaomi—who just happens to be her childhood friend (and first love). Saeki-sensei's latest scheme lands Mafuyu and new friend Hayasaka in the school's ethics club, where they're appointed the vanguards in a fight to defang the school's reigning gang leader.

Shanaou Yoshitsune Genpei War 6 of 12+ by Sawada Hirofumi

Hyota (Yoshitsune) and comrades find more than they bargain for when they enter Kamakura and proceed to Kouzuke; one by one, Hyota's group vanishes. Desperate, Hyota...
