Manga always kept within easy reach for reread, Part 1 (Manga beside series)

Manga beside banner

I was tweeting about the manga I keep by my bedside for those midnight reread urges; the list reached 14 so I decided to transfer it here.

Not in any particular order:

  1. SC: I Hate You But I Love You (Kiss, Zekkou, Kiss) by Fujiwara Yoshiko
  2. Let's Go Home (Ouchi e Kaerou) by Ichikawa Show
  3. Master and I (Goshujinsama to Watashi) by Yamada Komomo
  4. Misunderstand Girl & Angry Prince (Kanchigai Musume to Buchigiri Ouji) by Shiumi Saki
  5. My Prince (Ore-sama Ouji) by Aikawa Saki
  6. Kingdom of The Beast (Hyakujuu Kingdom) by Takagi Shigeyoshi « kept only for the one-shot Bitter Trap actually
  7. Miracle Blue (Aoi Kiseki) by Mitsuki Miko
  8. Red Haired Snow White (Akagami no Shirayukihime) by Akizuki Sorata
  9. Oh Butterfly, Oh Flower (Chou yo Hana yo) by Yoshihara Yuki
  10. Beyond the Blindfold (Mekakushi no Kuni) by Tsukuba Sakura
  11. My Lovely Honey (Barairo My Honey) by Ohmi Tomu
  12. Ghost Hunt by Inada Shiho & Ono Fuyumi✱
  13. Skip Beat! by Nakamura Yoshiki✱
  14. Alice in the Country of Hearts (Heart no Kuni no Alice) by QuinRose x Hoshino Soumei
  15. School Hotel (Gakkou Hotel) by Morie Satoshi

✱Selected volumes only

This list doesn't include series that require marathoning from the beginning whenever there's a new release (to maximize reading pleasure) like My Sweet Kaicho (Kaichou wa Maid-Sama) by Fujiwara Hiro and Electric Daisy (Dengeki Daisy) by Motomi Kyousuke.

I guess it's not surprising that the stacks near me are all shoujo/josei, huh? Bishounen angst after all is best savored at midnight.

Anyhoo, so which manga do you keep around for reread? Pls feel free to share in the comments. I'm curious. ^^

Iamque opus exegi,

Level Comics April 2010 manga score card: 0.87 manga/day

ヒストリエ　１

Historie © Iwaaki Hitoshi/Kodansha

Level had 31 manga, manhwa, and manhua titles on tap for April and scheduled 23 of them. There were seven European comics slated in the April Komikologi, but by month's end, Level will have made good on only three of them. Still, not so bad; that's 0.87 manga/comic per day.

In terms of new series/standalones, Level planned for two and only liberated the one-volume disaster manga Pandemic (Kansen Rettou) by Kakizaki Masasumi [4.21], reserving the first volume of Iwaaki Hitoshi's Historie, about the life of Eumenes, a secretary and general to Alexander the Great, for a post April street date. Like Elex's, Level's planned series conclusions—Doubt, Tonogai Yoshiki's “Ten Little Murder Victims” shounen mystery, and the paranormal josei romance My Lovely Honey (Barairo My Honey) by Ohmi Tomu—fared better. Both caught the 14 April boat.
