My Pearl Girl 2, Lost Seven 2, Love Zipper by Shiraishi Yuki (m&c! 14 December 2011 manga)

Present wa Shinju © Saito Ken/Hakusensha [Serialized in LaLa DX and LaLa Special]. Published in Indonesia as My Pearl Girl by Gramedia/m&c!

To get him used to women, Edward Robell's faithful servants gift their lord with ‘Shinju.’ Contrary to Edward's first impression, Shinju is also noble-born and apparently the ‘S’ in Shinju stands for ‘Sadist.’ She just lurves toying with Edward.

What happens when Edward's good buddy Nicolas falls for Shinju?

Looks like you (we) will have to settle for My Pearl Girl 2 for a while; there's no sign yet of a third Present wa Shinju even in its home country.

Alternatively, you (we) can get invested in Lost Seven (m&c! has released half of the four-volume series) or the debuting one-shot shoujo tankou Love Zipper by Shiraishi Yuki.

In Lost Seven volume 2, Tanrou vanishes and the six Bry warriors are separated after Queen Rose's defeat. Ten years pass and a demon clan occupies Castle Wallbarakiss. The people are starving and suffer cruel oppression. Just when all seems hopeless, Tanrou, believed dead, returns with a young girl who is none other than Queen Rose's daughter.

In Love Zipper, Airi works at Rose Fan Fan, a fashion boutique specializing in Cute with a Capital C. Airi believes that all girls can look pretty and with her advice, they do. But Airi doesn't only make her customers appear beautiful and stylish, she also helps solve their love problems. Too bad she can't do something about her own romance with Tokiya. Crazy Girl Shin Bia 7, Mysterious Joker 5, Yona The Girl Standing in the Blush of Dawn 3 (m&c! 9 November 2011 manhwa and manga) [UPDATED]

Can't seem to shake this flu—yeah, yeah, I always have excuses handy—but I'll still fill in the m&c! eyecandy and blurbs and NikBabble™ later. Also, that Yona, The Girl Standing in the Blush of Dawn is still a mouthful :P «Update: No change in Akatsuki no Yona's title, but at least, synops.

Akatsuki no Yona © Kusanagi Mizuho/Hakusensha [Serialized in Hana to Yume]
Published in Indonesia as Yona, The Girl Standing in the Blush of Dawn
by Gramedia/m&c!

Desperate to learn what the future holds, Yona and Haku search for a seer. They meet Yun and Ikusu after the pair rescued them from their pursuers. Is Ikusu the seer Yona and Haku are looking for? What path does the oracle show Yona who only yearns to protect her loved ones?

What I wanna know is: Who else here fangirls Suwon-sama other than me and nacchan? OK, so she's moar a fangirl than I am; I still haven't read Yona, The Girl Standing in the Blush of Dawn 2, and here volume 3 already streeted... (Haku-sama fangirls are welcome to chime in—I'm all for equal opportunity—and the comment box waits for you down there). Still, I'm half-tempted to pick up Akatsuki no Yona again, just for that Suwon-sama on the cover.

Half-hearted Suwon-sama fangirling regardless, I definitely fangirl Mu Young, another Affably Evil White-Haired Pretty Boy ♡. Unfortunately, Crown Prince Yoo Baek steals the spotlight in m&c!'s Crazy Girl Shin Bia 7 blurb:

Crazy Girl Shin Bia vol 7 of 19
By Hwang MiRee

On the way back to the palace, Bia is abducted by Amar, son of the Goyo tribal leader. What retaliation does Crown Prince Yoo Baek visit for the crime of kidnapping his precious bride?

I preview Mysterious Joker 5 after the release list to free up Above the Cut space for newb School Babysitters *pokes Kia-chan*:

Gakuen Babysitters

Published in Indonesia as
School Babysitters by m&c!

Caring for one sibling already proves a handful, what more a LOT. But such is Ryuuichi's new everyday. Ryuuichi is accustomed to taking care of younger brother Kotarou, a good thing as they've just lost their parents. But when Ryuuichi enrolls into Morinomiya, he finds his babysitting duties asploding.

Yup, Shoujo with Male Lead, aside from the equally obvious Childcare, Babysitter, Older Brother, Dead Family Members. Baka-Updates Manga explains that Ryuuichi becomes the school daycare's new babysitter after he and Kotarou are adopted by Morinomiya's chairman.

Gakuen Babysitters is Tokeino Hari's latest shoujo series. Four tankou have been compiled in Japan as of September 2011 and the manga continues to serialize in LaLa. The name Tokeino Hari sound familiar? She's the manga-ka behind Oniichan to Issho—published by Elex as With My Brothers—and Hitai ni Mikazuki that m&c! retitled Ninja & The Crescent Moon Princess.

Dunno if either Elex or m&c! ever licensed Gyakuten Honey, the 1 Volume (Ongoing) Body Swap comedy serialized in LaLa DX and LaLa Special (volume 1 published in Japan 2009.11).

Published in Indonesia as Last Summer Cinema by Gramedia/m&c!

Asahi, Tamaki and Yakata's indie film project grinds to a halt after they start fighting over Just who is concealing what secret now?! Fortunately, the timely arrival of Mizuno-sensei reconciles the three and kick-starts the mothballed movie enterprise. But with weeks to go before the contest, can the trio finish the movie AND surprise their beloved Sensei as per plan?

Me and my Gunjou Cinema club tweeps @Raynelly, @ameliarozali and @MayzMeow voted on our Last Summer Cinema favorites. So far —

Shin Bia's Great Escape throws Crown Prince Yoo Baek into turmoil. When the Future Husband and Wife reunite, however, Yoo Baek has no desperate clinch nor Possessive Lover's kiss to spare for Shin Bia. Instead, Bia finds herself at the wrong end of Yoo Baek's sword!

And as if an irate bridegroom-to-be weren't enough of a challenge, Bia faces another danger in Crazy Girl Shin Bia volume 4: she has to heal someone and account for her deeds before the King. What will happen to our tomboy Shin Bia naaw~?

What I'm moar interested in is: What happened between Shin Bia and her droolicious, would be assassin slash yet another prince running around here? (At last count, at least three princelings populated Shin Bia's alternate world.)

New m&c! titles

m&c! again rummages all over Southeast Asia for new GN and comes home with XOL: The Exolight by Sung Lin Gun and Y2Laud from Singapore, but my Above the Cut is reserved for the Cats! We Love You, Shiro! manga by Morie Satoshi. No discrimination intended, but Nihon wa ichiban :D

Shiro-chan's mother just abandoned him, forcing the confused little boy to ask Tae, the only domesticated cat in a town teeming with stray cats, to become his new ‘mother.’

m&c! hypes We Love You, Shiro! as a touching story of a boy looking for love. ITA. Shiro-chan—and Ichi—are chou kawaii :D Who is Ichi? GET! We Love You, Shiro! for the answer. (Hint: This is a shoujo manga, after all.)

This volume also includes the one-shot Sky Splash.

Love So Life 5, Love Button 2, Ultramix Collection 2 of 2 (m&c! 13 July 2011 manga)

We get confirmation that Shiharu is Seiji's dream girl—

Love So Life © Kouchi Kaede/Hakusensha
[Serialized in Hana to Yume]
Published in Indonesia by Gramedia/m&c!

Albeit of the third person kind. xD

Spring is here and so is White Day. Matsunaga Seiji, busy looking for a gift for Shiharu, asks for Oikawa's opinion. Instead of answering directly, Seiji's long-time buddy deadpans, "Isn't she your dream girl?"

Oh, teh pressure on Sei-tan ^^ Is it any wonder that he's all flustered? And what about Shiharu? Does she get infected by the love bug from BFF Rio? See Love So Life volume 5 for answers.

Remember Nina and her trial dating Koga-kun? Yeah, didn't think so.

Love Button 2 of 5+ by Usami Maki

I'm still on probation but I get the feeling we're getting closer. In fact, I think Koga-kun's thisclose to coming over my house. Kyaaa~! Don't tell me we'll soon be an official couple??

I can dream, can't I?, Nina whines, and to her face, I would say, "Sure, fine," but privately think Koga-kun's not done toying with Nina yet :P

In case you missed the genesis of Nina's quandary, the first Love Button restocks, too, along with another Love is Everywhere standalone — Paradise Café by Morita Fuji that we rated an 8 of 10 ♥. (More on Restocks below.)

New m&c! manga and manhwa

m&c! rolls out Last Summer Cinema 1 by Miyako Ritsu, The Love Helper by Shigano Iori and My Lovely Class Leader 1 by Nishimura Tomoko on the manga side. On the manhwa side, there's Bittersweet High School 1 by Park SunKyung that resists giving up its original Korean title or any other deet about it. (Other than that it was first published by Haksan (Chiro, Mystery Bride publisher) and that one volume goes for IDR 23,000.)

Because I ♡ Miyako Ritsu's shoujo retelling of Psychic Detective Yakumo, Last Summer Cinema grabs the Above the Cut spotlight.

Asahi, Tamaki and Yakata want to surprise their former homeroom teacher who left for Tokyo three months ago with a home movie shot using an 8mm camera they just found. They discover that not only is film-making difficult, it's also expensive.

Can they finish their masterpiece before the deadline?

If I read the Japanese blurb right, the deadline is the upcoming indie film fest.

I mentioned that Miyako Ritsu-sensei illustrated Psychic Detective Yakumo - The red eye knows, but s/he has two other manga listed: the Trains slice-of-life Kanjou Hakubasen Shashou no Ei-san (Japan release: 2009.01) and the ongoing historical shoujo Touran Merry Rose (serialized in Bessatsu Hana to Yume; one volume as at 2011.02).

I preview the other newbies after the release list. Note that I placed Series Premiere before Shigano Iori's The Love Helper because 7net returned two Saikyou Help xxx volumes (here and here).

☂ [RE-STO]: m&c! restocks individual Shanaou Yoshitsune volumes — from 1 through 10. If you need volumes 11 through 16 and volumes 17 to 22, wait for 20 July and 27 July respectively. (Unless, of course, you opted for teh box sets shipped 6th July.)
