Detektif Conan 64, One Piece 60, Barista 2 (Elex Media 26 October 2011 manga)

Elex's Detektif Conan vol 64 preview—Satu-satunya petunjuk adalah lagu Let It Be yang disiulkan oleh pelaku—sounded familiar and some flipping back to July answered the Why?

It was Shonen Star 13's Detektif Conan preview.

I'm still no lawyer (not to mention remain a Conan virgin), so that

The statute of limitations on the unsolved 20-year old murder of Detective Morimura, Commissioner Matsumoto's subordinate, is set to expire. But a string of copycat killings extends the deadline. With clues thin on the ground—only the killer's Let It Be whistling as guide—Conan aids the police in tracking down the perp.

continues to be problematic. As I mentioned in that July post, apparently, Japan abolished the statute of limitations for murder in 2010, leading me to wonder whether that Under the new Law, the statute of limitations is not applied for crimes that are subject to the death penalty, such as murder and robbery that result in death amendment had been Aoyama Gosho-sensei's inspiration. (Prolly not cuz volume 64 streeted April 2009.) In any case, not much has changed since I adapted the blurb, or in short, I still don't know what I'm talkin' about. >.<

The one certain thing: There's also the case of Saba, Koi, Tai and Hirame, and the beginning of another run in with Phantom Thief Kid, the latter previewed in Wiki's Case Closed volume 64 summary.

Conan volume 64 compiles chapters 664 through 674: Ikkaku Rock, Mackerel Carp Sea Bream Flounder (that's Saba Koi Tai Hirame), Thirst for Blood, Scar, The Boy of Memory, Gari-kun, The One Who Whistles, The Connection, ESWN, The Common Pattern and Iron Tanuki. [*NOT Elex/Shonen Star chapter titles]

For up-to-the-minute Conan installments, bring home Shonen Star. The Indonesian Shonen Sunday Issue 19 streets the same day as Detektif Conan volume 64. The most recent Meitantei Conan chapter compiled in a tankou is 773: Possible Sniping! (collected in volume 73; JP release: 2011.09.16).

Black Butler XI nabs the lead because at least thirty-two LX regulars indicated it as a GET!, the total DO WANT! outstripping 07-GHOST's, even past the 22 votes the josei manga received when it was first advised on 22 June. 07-GHOST shoulda stayed where it was if it wanted the headline pix.

Did Elex postpone 07-GHOST to the 6th because the anime airs on the 12th (on Animax)? One thing prolly has nuthin' to do with the other. At any rate, Amemiya Yuki & Ichihara Yukino's Zero-Sum series streets this Wednesday.

Teito Klein goes from elite imperial military cadet to fugitive after attacking the Balsburg military brass. The only sanctuary willing to succor the Zaiphon user and keep the army at bay is the Balsburg Church, where dwell the legendary empire guardians 07 Ghosts.

What awaits Teito in the ongoing conflict between the 07 Ghosts and their sworn enemy Verloren?

Three words: the Eye of Mikhail (and the fate that goes with it).

Baka-Updates Manga tags 07-Ghost Friendship as the amnesiac Teito has only one homey in the academy, Mikage. (The other tropes are Special Abilities, Secret Identity, Orphans, Military, Church, Amnesia, Deities, Guardian Relationship, Religion.)

The first five 07-GHOST chapters are: Escape, The Seventh District, Darkness, Kor and Violation. [*NOT Elex Media's titles]

Amemiya Yuki and Ichihara Yukino are more known for their doujinshi (primarily of Naruto and their own 07-GHOST creation).

For latest installments of Detektif Conan Defense Devil and My First Mr. Akuno, see Shonen Star 1/2011, also streeting 1.19.

The Elex top DO WANT! manga award goes to Aoyama Gosho's Detektif Conan 59 that continues the FBI's struggle to rescue one of its own from the Black Organization. But can Akai & Co. still be saved? The same Conan tank also tackles the case of attempted murder with volcanic phosphorus.

Meanwhile, two Hakusensha Hana to Yume A-listers make a comeback: Skip Beat!, with volume 18, and Alice Academy (volume 14). In volume 18 of Nakamura Yoshiki's Skip Beat!, Kyoko's acting skills are put to the test when Hizuri orders her to play his teenaged son, much to (real, now older son) Ren's dismay.

In Higuchi Tachibana's Alice Academy 14, Mikan makes a new friend in Koizumi, whose Alice power remains unknown, but who always seems to end up getting Mikan into trouble.

Reissues

Elex also reissues Detektif Conan in volumes 1-10 and 11-20 box sets. For those looking to start collecting, each value bundle goes for IDR 160,000.
