New m&c! manga: Goal Den Age and Togetherness

m&c!'s premiering Goal Den Age by Takaoka Eisei & Tsunamoto Masaya is a short shounen sports series, soccer-themed, but you already inferred that from the manga title.

Despite being crazy over soccer, Fujiyama Kazu has never had the benefit of training, so his skills remain so much untapped potential. This stands to change when two mystery men invite him to join the the U-16 national squad.

Wagata Konomi's Togetherness, meanwhile, finished its Indonesian serial run in Cherry, so it's not really a new-new thing. If you missed the installment, here's the lowdown on the Ciao manga originally titled Isshoni Kaero:

Shiori doesn't like dogs, so it's just karmic that she gets charge of a dog named Ken upon request of her crush Saito. Ken's not like other eager to please dogs and annoys Shiori to no end with his canine arrogance.

But doggitude's not the only thing Ken's got going for him; aside from fluency in barking, he can also speak... human??

Last September, Cherry released a Togetherness side story, My Family Problem, but I don't know if this is included in the tankou.

I know, I know. Bleach 35 is the #1 manga DO WANT! But as I prefer not to stare at Kurotsuchi first thing (no disrespect meant the scary 12th Division captain lest he come after me), the purtier Song of Love 6 snatches the cover spot. In any case, Song of Love's return after nearly a year's absence calls for the spotlight.

Still, I'll kick off the post with Bleach 35: Higher Than The Moon:

Bleach 35 of 47+ by Kubo Tite

Mad Scientist Espada Szayel Aporro Granz gets his at the (black and white even in color) hands of kindred spirit Kurotsuchi Mayuri. Poisoned by the incumbent Shinigami Research Institute prez, Szayel Aporro sees his impending death play out in flo-mo. Elsewhere, another Soul Society VS Las Noches battle—between 11th Division captain Zaraki Kenpachi and Quinto Espada Nnoitra Gilga—goes into eternal (read: neverending) mode. The abridged version: Nnoitra releases his Resurrección, bringing his opponent to his knees, before Kenpachi opts to give that kendo sh*t a whirl and beat the snot out of Nnoitra.

If you're wondering where teh *bleep* Ichigo is, you'll have to jump over several mortal combat chapters, the cloning of Karakura chou and Orihime abduction redux. (Yup, Ichigo has to save 'Hime again from Ulquiorra-sama.)

Song of Love 6 of 8 by Fujita Maki

Weks! Rabid dog alert! Eiri gets so annoyed with Muneyuki sticking to Ritsu and constantly making her over that he bites—yes, bites—the poor girl! And as the new year holiday rolls in, Ritsu chooses to stay at the dorm, but a phone call from home nixes that plan, forcing Ritsu to Face Her Fear: buddying up with her new family.

It's been so long since I last read Fujita Maki's Eden no Trill that the Previously on... has all but sunk into oblivion. Meanwhile, the French Asuka édition Trill on Eden tome 6 blurb has this to add (if mechanical translation is not #Fail): Ritsu's mom finally finds out that her daughter has transferred to the music department. So between her own family and Eiri's (Eiri and his brothers, specifically), Ritsu can only look forward to a most stressful holiday.

NEW M&C! TITLES: How to make a Princess, Love Remedy and My Sweet Home

m&c! launches two new series—How to make a Princess (manga) and My Sweet Home (manhwa)—and a manga standalone, Love Remedy. All shoujo/soonjung. I don't consider When Love is Growing: The Evolution of Love a real newbie (perhaps unreal) as it's actually the second in Shiumi Saki's The (Blankity-Blank-Blank) of Love trilogy. (Prequel When Love is Hiding: The Latency Period of Love streeted last June.) I do promise an extended babble (albeit tucked behind the fake cut) because I lurve all manga Shiumi Saki. (Advanced info: m&c! has already penciled in Shiumi Saki-sensei's Kanchigai Musume to Buchigire Ouji for this October's end.)

For now, dedicating this prime real estate to the current How to make a Princess, Izumi Asuka's Butler, Rich Girl Poor Boy, Love Triangle Himegimi no Tsukurikata, which started life out as a LaLa DX serial and ended up compiled in two volumes.

Maria has lived on her own ever since her mother passed away. Imagine her consternation when into her relatively quiet life bursts in not one but two... butlers?!

Rufus and Yuri insist on serving Maria on her absentee father's orders, though it's really a toss-up as to who is serving whom. For the butlers have been sent to transform Maria into a “Princess.” She needs must go through her milady paces before the bishie pair deems her fit to meet her father who appears to be in danger.

Studio Pierrot's Bleach anime adaptation first broadcast in October 2004, continuing to this day. Season 15 opened with episode 266 in April 2010; latest episode 292 aired 2010.10.12). Seiyuu Morita Masakazu and Orikasa Fumiko star as Kurosaki Ichigo and Kuchiki Rukia, with Park Romi and Namikawa Daisuke playing 10th Division captain Hitsugaya Toshiro and Arrancar Ulquiorra Cifer respectively. Two OAVs and three theatrical movies—Memories of Nobody, The DiamondDust Rebellion, Another Hyōrinmaru and Fade to Black, I Call Your Name—have been released. A fourth Bleach: Hell Chapter movie, overseen by Kubo Tito-sensei, is slated for a 4 December 2010 release. Additionally, Warner Bros. has confirmed it will be producing a Bleach live-action film.

At least eight drama CDs have been produced. Featuring the original anime cast, the drama CDs were bundled with the DVDs.

Love Remedy by Kohara Yuko

Sora-kun confessed his love to Ayumi when they were still in grade school but was rejected. Now, both Sora and Ayumi and middle schoolers.

When Ayumi meets Sora again, she is shocked to see how much kewler and more mature he has become. But she is even more disturbed at what she feels whenever she sees him.

What could be wrong with her?

Aside from Love Remedy, this Ciao anthology contains shorts Look At Me, Snow In The Spring, Your Lost Memory and Love Rocket.

I think I understand why m&c! chose to title Kohara Yuko-sensei's Otona no Okusuri Love Remedy. (Your Adult Medicine doesn't quite have that ring of 'wholesome shoujo' to it.) But it sure makes it interchangeable with Chuang Yi's Love Remedy, unless you know that the latter is by Kawamaru Shin-sensei (originally Dr. wa Sotto Dakishimeru, that m&c! in turn retitled Gorgeous Doctors).

Kohara Yuko-sensei also created the Mama Trouble and Paradise Kids shoujo comedies.

My Sweet Home 1 of 6 by MARU & Kim JinHee

Gona lost his mom at age seven; Bian has been fatherless since she was five. But while Bian welcomes her mom remarrying, her new stepbrother can only sulk and brood over the family additions.

What will happen to Gona and Bian now that they have Not Blood Sibs and living together to contend with?

Youdathunk they'd hit it off, seeing as how alike they are, but nooo. (This is soonjung manhwa, after all, and scrapping is more than welcome.) And as Baka-Updates Manga points out in its My Sweet Home entry, Gona can't stand tomboy Bian acting cutesy in front of his (rich) father, while Bian could just about wallop Gona for his emo-ness. The same synop adds that there IS someone who'd be over the moon were Gona and Bian to remain distant — Shion who's crushing on Bian. But right now Shion's all green-eyed over Bian “dating” her stepsib.

The When Love is Growing GET! is a foregone conclusion. I expect they'll have fun with When Love is Hiding and the other m&c! Shiumi Saki standalones in my library, My Rival is My Love and Pure Love Junky. (Only Secret Love is missing from my collection.)

If m&c! decides to serialize Shiumi Saki-sensei's ongoing Sho-Comi manga, Koi ni Ochita Kanpeki-kun, I'll go back to regularly patronizing Cherry.
