Sable Prince 1 by Nesumi Chisato, Crab Kiss 7, Idol Shopping 12 of 12 (m&c! 12 October 2011 manga and manhwa) [UPDATED]

Took this long to stretch the MinimaList into NikBabble™, so some of you prolly already read (and wubbed) Pure Love Station by Tanaka Kei. Lemme just stress that Junai Station 2 already streeted in Japan last April. Better start begging m&c! ♡ for it.

Idol Shopping © Hwang MiRee/Samyang
Published in Indonesia by Gramedia/m&c!

Kang Ahul is enraged to see just how much Seo GaYoon loves Kang Song Yie, so much so that Ahul connives with Han Yerim to separate Song Yie from her soul mate. What's worse, Ahul disguises himself as his twin to trap GaYoon.

W00t! I can finally read Idol Shopping vol 11, which I've kept shrink-wrapped all this time in angsticipation of the last volume. Didn't want to get caught in an evil Hwang MiRee cliffie.

I preview other HMR manhwa Crab Kiss 7, Crazy Girl Shin Bia 6 and My Own Princess 8 after the release lists.

With Idol Shopping's finale, m&c! wraps the Original Samyang Four it launched in July 2010. (Remember that Idol Shopping premiered with Female Wolf's BOY, Ugly Duckling Become Swan and Sandwich Girl? I do, especially as I have 12+17+13+8 volumes nau taking up fast dwindling bookshelf space.)

New m&c! titles
Six of nine manga are new: The Adventure of Yoshito-sama, a new shounen series from Shii Haruka, creator of Meteodo; Nesumi Chisato's Clock Maker's Love (that I've been waiting for since 28 September) and Sable Prince, both shoujo fantasies ex-Comic Blade Avarus; Next to You by Namba Atsuko (Sprout creator); the Pure WAFF Pure Love Station by Tanaka Kei (that I already noted has a volume 2); and Song of the Sky, the second Amano Kozue short story antho, likewise postponed from its original 9.28 street date.

I feature the Nesumi Chisato pair up here; scroll down for the rest of the newbies.

crookclock and Sable Prince © Nesumi Chisato/Mag Garden [Blade Comics Avarus]
Published in Indonesia as Clock Maker's Love and Sable Prince by Gramedia/m&c!

In Clock Maker's Love, young master Hewlett devotes all his time to crafting timepieces for an appreciative few. His workaholic everyday is such that butler Gil fears for the watch-maker's health.

But one day, the gifted artisan meets a girl who upends his Don't bother me; I have work to do! routine. New maid Mulara surprises her employer by saying that her most precious possession is master Hewlett's clock.

Master and Maid trope, start-OH! :D Baka-Updates Manga users also heads-up: European Ambient, Male Lead Falling in Love First, Moe, Talented Male Lead, Tsundere Male Lead.

Clock Maker's Love spans four chapters. The tankou closes with The Cat's Hair Ornament, a nekomimi moe one-shot that's the last word in touching. I rate both 7 of 10.

Sable Prince vol 1, meanwhile, sees Prince Viloftira embark on a quest for a sword worthy of a future king. A new guard, Pierre, accompanies his majesty on his journey. What happens when you throw together a headstrong heir-apparent and a more than meets the eye companion? Also, what kind of sword is the prince seeking?

Baka-Updates Manga users warn: Lazy Character, Secret Identity, Master-Servant Relationship, Betrayal, the last already hinted at by the end of Tale or chapter 5 Fairies Cloth. (Chapters 1 to 4 are The Winged Prince, The Meat Dish Shop, The Prince and The Thief and Sopranino.)

I also rate the episodic Sable Prince vol 1 a 7 of 10.

Other Nesumi Chisato manga
Found only one other entry in addition to crookclock and Sable Prince — Jauhara Genya, the Arabian Desert, Princes, Ruins, Thieves romance first serialized in Aria (two of two volumes published in Japan per May 2011).

Idol's Love Story 7, Love Sick 1 by Morie Satoshi, Triple launch: Ai Hime - Love & Secret by Mitsuki Kaco (m&c! 5 October 2011 manhwa and manga) [UPDATED]

Update: And we graduate from List Version into NikBabble™ (Don't worry; I include m&c! artwork and blurbs, too.)

Idol School of Noble's Story © Han YuRang/Samyang
Published in Indonesia as Idol's Love Story by Gramedia/m&c!

In Idol's Love Story vol. 7 —

Ian hauls out the Incest Card and rejects Lang Land outright; Lang Land in turn rejects Ian's rejection of her love confession, forcing her step-brother to take extreme measures.

Just how extreme? The cover above prolly clued you in, but you'll hafta GET! the We're More Than Halfway Thru Idol's Love Story to confirm.

For you on Team Jang Gun × Lang Land, your ’ship's (also) in danger of sinking as Jang Gun's dad pressures his son to choose between Lang Land and his friends. (Pronoun ambiguity deliberate :P)

New m&c! manga
Heck, all the manga titles are newbs. There's Mitsuki Kaco's Taboo Love Ai Hime - Love & Secret triple-launching and the debut of Morie Satoshi's shoujo gender bender Love Sick. Cherry grad Super Sweet Honey by Aoi Michiru gets the tankou treatment and Nakashima Kazuki × Karakara Kemuri's Takeru: Opera Susanoh Sword of the Devil premieres. Exclusively shoujo, BTW.

Featuring Love Sick (jebolan or ex-HanaYume) up here. That's one of the perks to owning this blog, and for you, the downside(?) to sed owner stalking Morie Satoshi (manga-ka of School Hotel). Mitsuki Kaco fans (and Takeru: Opera Susanoh and Super Sweet Honey interested parties), scroll awaaay.

Love Sick © Morie Satoshi
Hakusensha [First serialized
in Hana to Yume]
Published in Indonesia
by Gramedia/m&c!

She would go on to publish the three-volume, bishounen named for seasons (‘Haru (spring) the prince, Natsu (summer) the bishounen, Aki (autumn) the womanizer, and Fuyu (winter) the cold-hearted genius’) gender bender Love Sick...

...is what I noted under Other Morie Satoshi manga when We Love You, Shiro! premiered, and a couple months later, we get Love Sick—oh, you wanted a more informative blurb?

Shiki enrolls in a rich kids' school disguised as guy to wreak revenge on the principal, responsible for her father's death. There she meets Haru, Natsu, Aki and Fuyu, her dad's former patients. Shiki discovers that not only are they popular, they all suffer from a mysterious illness, too. To sway the fab foursome to her side, Shiki threatens to divulge their secret.

Does Shiki succeed in Mission: Avenge? Whatever the final outcome, it will likely only become apparent by the third Love Sick volume, published in Japan in February 2010. (The first tank streeted April 2009.) As for what ails Shiki's Reverse Harem, perhaps the manga title Love Sick is the clue? Especially as the chapter titles are actually styled SICK, as in 1st ~ 6th SICK (that comprise volume 1). Barring that, the Dissociative Identity Disorder mentioned in Baka-Updates' Love Sick entry?

I already mentioned School Hotel or Gakkou Hotel above. No change to Morie Satoshi's backlist since the Shiro premiere, so just click the link to Other Morie Satoshi manga three paragraphs above if you're interested to know moar.

Electric Daisy 8, Namida Usagi 2, Idol Shopping 10 (m&c! 20 July 2011 manga and manhwa) [UPDATED]

Update: Tweaked here and there because I can :D

Kurosaki! Narumi! SeRyun?! (Yeah, I prefer Hwang SeRyun over Seo GaYoon :P)

Dengeki Daisy © Motomi Kyousuke/Shogakukan [Serialized in Betsucomi]
Published in Indonesia as Electric Daisy by Gramedia/m&c!

Teru emails Kurosaki, telling him to get lost. Kurosaki complies, but not before leaving Teru a message admitting that he killed Souichirou. Disbelieving, Teru pleads to hear about Kurosaki's "sin."

So in the latest Electric Daisy, we're finally treated to Kurosaki's backstory: why he became a hacker and the real deal behind Teru's brother's so-called murder. This particular volume is also responsible for (at least in Japan, 7net tells me) Dengeki Daisy sales topping a million copies. (100 (hyaku)-man = one million, ne?) Wonder how many m&c! has sold?

Going by the Japanese blurb again, this tank apparently includes the previously unreleased one-shot, Akira & Kurosaki Love-Love Shot. Will confirm once I have volume 8 in my greedy hands. »Edit Most likely misread Gugel's translation because the last File 39 is Daisy's Birth Day and what follows are end notes and a volume 9 preview. Unless it's one of the intervening chapters? Oh, well. *shrugs*

As if a new Electric Daisy weren't already such munificence, m&c! also reissues Motomi Kyousuke's Love Arrow, a shoujo manga fave 'round these parts, wubbed to the tune of 9.5 of 10 ♥. (If that isn't an exhortation to GET! I don't know what is. xD) Neway, more on manga new print runs below. For now... (I know you're (also) waiting for this.)

Namida Usagi -Tears of First Love- 2 of 7+ by Minase Ai

How many tears must I shed for you to consider me special?

Momoka couldn't be more surprised nor happier; Narumi shows up at the opening day ceremony. They're even classmates again. But the new Narumi has shed his gloomy geekness, much to the squeeing approval of the school's female cohort. Additionally, he and Momoko are no longer seatmates.

Can Momoko do anything to reduce the gap widening between herself and Narumi?

Kyaaa~ The Namida Usagi emotional stakes just went up-up-UP! with this Promised Angst xDDD. Can't wait to GET! volume two >.< What, you didn't get Namida Usagi 1 last January? Then I suggest snaffling a copy, restocked along with volume 2. This Minase Ai series is Pure Adowable!

New m&c! titles

m&c! launches yet another Tony Wong manhua (only two volumes long)—Chinese Heroes: Sang Legenda—about swordsman Dao Yi Lang who wants to reach the top, no matter what, even if it means leaving wife and kid behind, and Hua Ying Xiong who will do anything to free himself from the Black Dragon's clutches, objections and threats to life be d*mned.

This being my blog, however, My Beautiful Model by Yagami Rina, originally Emperor Limited, gets the Extended NikBabble™ Mix.

Emperor Limited © Yagami Rina
Shogakukan [Sho-Comi]
Published in Indonesia as
My Beautiful Model
by Gramedia/m&c!

People call Kou the "Emperor" of the modeling world. My twin brother Ao so reveres His Majesty, he decides to apply to Kou's modeling agency. But come audition day, Ao falls sick and who else but Big Sis has to sub for him (we look alike anyway).

Unfortunately, the Powers That Be discover I am NOT Ao. Fortunately, they give me a week's grace period, until Ao recovers. Can I survive this one week? More than that, what am I doing ogling Emperor Kou??

Baka-Updates Manga adds Adapted to Kdrama to My Beautiful Model AKA Koutei Gentei's Crossdressing, Twins, modeling tags. I don't know which drama they mean, but teh internets associates the superficial premise similarity with You're Beautiful. (No, Koutei Gentei is not credited.)

Digression done. This antho comprises two more stories: Your Naughty Eyes and
Kiss Kiss Kiss ~ My Little Honey. [Babble continued after the release list]

And while you can't really call 'em "new"—

New printing in addition to ☂ Restocks

m&c! reissues 3 Colors Signal by Obara Shou, Love Me by Aikawa Saki (both Love Triangled), Magical Sweet Mermaid by Minase Itsuru (which sounds nothing so much as a Little Mermaid retelling), the Wimp Bodyguard St. Valentine's Bodyguard by Takeuchi Masami and the Teacher/Student romance Sweet Words No Love by Fujita Nimi. These aside from Motomi Kyousuke's Love Arrow already noted above and the restocks listed below. (Shanaou Yoshitsune 11-16 or a couple of Love is Everywhere manga rated 8 of 10 ♥, anyone?)

I preview the recurrents after the release list, too, so you know what to do if you want moar babble. (Scroll down :D)

Sky Blue Beach 6 of 6, My Own Princess 5, Say Say Say 3 (m&c! 6 July 2011 manga and manhwa) [UPDATED]

Based on the final Sky Blue Beach 6 cover, I'm assuming that Tomo ends up with...

Sorairo Kaigan © Yamada Nanpei/Hakusensha
[First serialized in Bessatsu Hana to Yume]
Published in Indonesia as Sky Blue Beach by Gramedia/m&c!

I'm prolly jumping the gun on The End to this seaside romance. Blurb —

The craft show ends in success, and Tomo, too, resolves to tell Riku how she feels. Tento, meanwhile, gets a shot of courage from Tomo's 'fess-up determination and tries to reconcile with his mom. He also confesses his ten-years-in-the-making feelings for Tomo.

Count yourself lucky to live in Indonesia. You get Sky Blue Beach closure, whatever 'ship it may canonize. That's three-fold what English Skyblue Shore readers get, as no other publisher has stepped up (far as I know) to continue Yamada Nanpei's series beyond the volume two released by TOKYOPOP prior to its shut down of American operations.

New m&c! manga: Let Me Kiss You by Shiraishi Yuki ♥

Sono Kuchibiru, Itadakimasu

Shogakukan [Sho-Comi]
Published in Indonesia as
Let Me Kiss You by m&c!

Four shorts comprise Let Me Kiss You, originally Shiraishi Yuki's Sono Kuchibiru, Itadakimasu, first serialized in Sho-Comi. The Let Me Kiss You title story follows Poor Girl Sana, targeting Smart Guy Aki for the mole on his lower lip. Why? Because people say a beauty mark on teh kisser means you won't ever have to worry about money. Imagine Sana's shock when she discovers that Aki is equally impoverished. O.o What else is left but to win the school's Best Couple Contest with Aki, for the grand (and droolable) prize of a year's worth of free lunches? [Additions from Intercross's Sono Kuchibiru, Itadakimasu description, excerpted by Baka-Updates Manga]

To preview the other one-shots: the Confessed to the Wrong Guy Don't Say You Love Me! (Sukitte Iccha ×× Nandesu!); the Short Girl/Tall Boy, Bickering Pretend Lovers Parallel Love!! (Narabuna Kiken!!); and the Unexpected Confession This Can't Be Love! (Koi ni Nante Naranai!), follow the link to Baka-Updates Manga.

m&c! already published Shiraishi Yuki's Naughty Boyfriend, Catwalk Romance and Princess Love Secret standalones, as well as the Rival Next Door series. With Let Me Kiss You's premiere, I only have to wait for the Reverse Harem, Animal Transformation, Cat Girls Bokura no Himitsu wo Kyouyuu shiyou ka? (includes the Colorful Shounen to Monochrome na Atashi and Itoshi no Hime-chan one-shots; JP release: 2011.05); the Childhood friends, Tomboy, Twins Love Zipper (2010.11); and the megane, live in lover, tutor Maruoka-san Chi no Kyouikugakari (2010.05). Gee. Stalk much? :P

☂ [RE-STO]: m&c! restocks the complete Shanaou Yoshitsune box sets I advised when Shanaou Yoshitsune Genpei War 13 premiered. (If you only need piecemeal volumes, wait till 13 July when volumes 1 through 10 are individually restocked and/or 20 July for volumes 11 through 16.) Also, some Love is Everywhere manga (ex-m&c!'s Valentine 2011 salvo) reappear, two of which we reviewed and gave a minimum of 8 of 10 ♥. Now's your chance to collect. (I provide links to our reviews.) Omitted from my list the restocked shoujo standalones duplicated in the 20 July schedule (Cold Heart by Hoshimori Yukimo; Moon Love's Secret by Taamo; OMG! by Aoki Kotomi), that I presume were postponed.

Idol Shopping 9, 16 Life 1 and 2 of 2 by Aikawa Saki, My Kingdom 3 (m&c! 28 June 2011 manhwa and manga) [UPDATED]

NikBabble™ compounded, per promise. Also, covers.

Idol Shopping © Hwang MiRee/Samyang
Published in Indonesia by Gramedia/m&c!

The Biatch Teacher© and Seo GaYoon are engaged?! Kang Song Yie's heart shatters upon hearing the news. It is up to the so-called playboy prince to piece the shards back, and for that he will have to concoct a plan that would do even Machiavelli, Niccolò di Bernardo dei proud.

Meanwhile, Hwang SeRyun suspects Kang Song Yie is not who s/he seems and tries his best to split the couple permanently. He'll have problems as not long after, someone kidnaps him AND Song Yie!

These twists are sooo classic Hwang MiRee, I'm almost afraid to pick up the latest Idol Shopping. But don't let my misgivings prevent you from getting and whizzing through the entire volume 9 in under thirty minutes. (Yes, I'm serious mode ON! here.)

New m&c! manga and manhwa

Aikawa Saki's 16 Life series double launches and Fujimoto Yuuki's (Family, Some Dead) Song For My Sweet Home, as well as Romo's (Pricey Patissier's confection) Vanilla Frosting premiere. It's obvious which (Cinderella story) Imma subject to the spotlight:

16 Life 1 of 2 by Aikawa Saki

Kajiura Saya loves to sing and fortunately, she can more than carry a tune. In spite of her tuneful warblings, though, she has no wish to become a diva like her talented (and famous) elder sister.

One day, as Saya is singing in a karaoke box (alone — hitokara?), a guy named Takase Kazuki barges in. He claims to be a music producer but a skeptical Saya gives him the brush-off. Her Exit, Stage Left! is ruined when she accidentally steps on his glasses.

So to replace Takase's custom glasses (which cost 500 thousand yen), Saya has to work for Takase, singing whatever piece he shoves at her.

Baka-Updates Manga tags 16 Life Older Male Younger Female, in addition to the expected Music, Celebrities, Showbiz, Singer, Debt.

I preview the second 16 Life tank after the release list.

Mangazine: Cherry 54/2011 - Happy Sixth Anniversary!

7 Cenchi!
© Nanajima Kana
Shogakukan [ChuChu]

The sixth anniversary edition of Cherry (Indonesian Sho-Comi/Ciao/ChuChu/Flowers) promises a lucky winner an invitation to a Cha no Yu at The Japan Foundation. Interested? If yes, GET! and write a unique Happy Anniversary greeting for Cherry. Wear a yukata when you go :D

I assumed last time that Nanajima Kana's 7 Centi! was close to wrapping because Cherry 53's Memory 9 installment came from 7 Cenchi! volume 3 of 3. 7 Centi! gracing the front cover this time strengthens that assumption (based on how m&c! usually features concluding series on the cover). If I'm wrong and it's not yet the finale, you get Memory 10, at the very least. Update: While Memory 10: Biar Kita Berpisah, Aku Tidak Kesepian!! (Hanare Banare demo Sabishikunai Mon!!?) does come from volume 3, it's not yet The End. What IS ending is Aoi Michiru's Super Sweet ☆ Honey, originally Sekai Seifuku ☆ Honey (Episode 4 this issue).

These other manga are continuing their serial runs: My Lovely Class Leader ♥ by Nishimura Tomoko (Episode 28 taken from Gokujou!! Mecha Mote Iinchou volume 9); Dawn Aria by Akaishi Michiyo (Episode 31 from Akatsuki no ARIA volume 9); I am not a Maid! by Iwaoka Meme (Episode 4 from Maid ja Naimon! volume 1); and Yomogi Loves Money? by Arai Kiyoko (Episode 5 from Yomogi Mochi Yaketa? volume 1). There's also Cold Love Pattern (Samugari na Koi Moyou), an Extra to Morita Yuki's She, Between He and Me/Kare to Kanojo to Kanojo.

Capping this sixth magaversary are sneak peaks into a couple of local KOLONI comics: The Butterfly Ink by Wina Oktavia dan Annisa Fadila Yusuf (Chapter 01 Yang Terbang, Yang Tak Mau Ditinggalkan) and My Premium Girl by H-San, both of which premiered last January.

☂ [RE-STO]: I sed when Song of Love 8 of 8 streeted that it's not too late to invest in Fujita Maki's Eden no Trill series. Here's corroboration: m&c! restocks Song of Love volumes 1 through 7 this release.
