Tasty Scraps

Last week, I went to McGoff's Salvage in Orford, N.H., to do a quick photo page for the Valley News. I enjoyed talking with owner Jim McGoff and hiking around his yard to find interesting cars and parts to photograph. I could have been there all day, but I had to get back to my other responsibilities. Here's a few photos from the page:

From top, a "bullet nose" 1950 Studebaker, last registered in 1952, is surrounded by trees — McGoff said there weren't any trees in the field when he parked it there 30 years ago; a tire is covered in leaves — McGoff said there's still a demand for tires by farmers who use them to hold down tarps covering their silage; parked at the yard's fence line, a 1957 Chevrolet station wagon faces out to a neighbor's field in honor of its owner, a friend of McGoff's who died young.
