Nevah, Evah

I looked at lots of OPPs (Other People's Photos) this week; cringed at times and did double-takes other times.

But in the end, if you like them and your client (if that is the case... maybe you were taking those pics for free) likes them, then that's all that matters. Right? There are no rules... right? Right.

Just 3 words for last week (haven't done this for a while): "PhelpsPhan I am"

My 3 words for last week: "I am addicted"
~to photography... to taking/making photographs~
I went poolside yesterday... to read, swim, relax. I had packed my camera bag - three cameras (well, there were puffy clouds, so I needed the IR one) and left it at home. Panic! There are potential photos everywhere.... alas - I need help. Is there a group out there? Will B&H please stop accepting my orders? (just kidding you guys - winkwink!)

PS I am reminded of a quote:
There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in. and enjoy it for what it is! - DeGriff

last week's "just 3 words": peace, love, photography
The LOOK3-Festival of the Photograph in Charlottesville, VA was an exceptional three day event. I look forward to next year! Would love to be able to attend a workshop...
The exhibits, the talks, the art everywhere - fabulous!

I am disappointed, dismayed and disgusted with the "apparent" choices for the presidential election. Give me a 3rd choice - please!!

I now have a gps unit that records location data to my image files, via a connection to my camera.

It works very well, as long as the connector stays in place....

However, displaying the mapping data on three of the major photo-sharing sites... not always so simple.

Pbase - works great!

Flickr - works, once you have uncovered the not-so-obvious uploader setting.

SmugMug - hmmmmmm..... the gps data is being recognized, because I can see it on my 'overall' map. However, if you click on the map marker, the photo is not displayed and if you are viewing the individual photo and click the 'map this' button.... you will see a California map. Not even close!!

The location of this barn is not significant; this was more an exercise in technology and the flow of and eventual display of the gps information. Otherwise, why capture it?

Other than the photos I took of Brandon pitching, I wasn't that happy with my photos last week. I got to watch him pitch in a Varsity game:

But I think my three words for last week are..... "Sold another print!"

My three words for last week: "red - red - red"

Cherry blossoms always make me think of pink tutus...

My three words for last week: "too many flowers"

It's spring and flowers are everywhere and it's sooooooo freaking easy. Ah well, I will try to do better this week.

the week

So many highs and lows last week.... started making a little documentary film, visited the state of sunshine, suffered from the common cold (I think common is not the right word when you cannot breathe!), wrote a sort-of bio, began my SoFoBoMo month and tasted Vermonty Python ice cream!

My 3 words: "film-write-shoot"

not refreshed

Back from a short road trip... tired, caught a cold, not yet unpacked, have to write a bio (ack!), tomorrow begins my SoFoBoMo.....
My three words for last week: "artists in conversation"

just 3 words

I've neglected posting my just-3-words for a couple of weeks, not intentional. And it's been an up-and-down week so, choosing just three is not easy. From my personal life, the choices would be "it's not cancer" or "made new friends" or "met old friends" or "thank you Pam!"....

Instead, I think I will take three from my photography week....

I've decided to do the "just 3 words" on each Friday, to describe my past week.
This week's 3 words:
