Dawn Aria 8, Mail Girlfriend 2, Takeru: Opera Susanoh Sword of the Devil 3 (m&c! 28 December 2011 manga) [UPDATED]

The rest of m&c!'s covers and NikBabble™ later
Update: This thing wouldn't let me rest until I'd filled in the blanks :P

Dawn Aria 8 (m&c!)

Akatsuki no Aria © Akaishi Michiyo/Shogakukan [Serialized in Flowers]
Published in Indonesia as Dawn Aria by Gramedia/m&c!

Dedication to music finally allows Aria to pursue her dream of going abroad, and despite Nishimikado family opposition, Natsuo insists on accompaning Aria. But before Natsuo can even set sail, he is stabbed by his ex-fiancée Beniko.

Aria sets off, unaware of the tragedy that has befallen her husband. Upon her arrival in a foreign land, she is greeted by Tsukio in a state of distress.

We finally get Dawn Aria volume 8, even if we had to wait—oh, just over a year for it. Thank goodness Akaishi Michiyo's Taisho era josei manga also serializes in Cherry, otherwise... (cue ominous music here).

As for The girlfriend connected by e-mail

Mail Girlfriend vol 2 of 5
By Oshima Towa

Kakeru has been dating Haruka for a year, but their relationship appears to be going nowhere. In fact, they seem to be growing apart. In this kind of situation, can Kakeru refrain from taking comfort in the ‘arms’ of new online friend, Myuu?

Mail Girlfriend volume 2 compiles chapters 7 to 13: timeout, access point, security hole, cookie, response, buffer overrun and impedance. [Original Japanese titles]

New m&c! titles
m&c! introes three one-shot Betsucomi shoujo manga: The Flavor of Love by Taamo (Rifle Girl manga-ka), Love Drops by Konno Risa (Invincible Lover) and Yummy Love Cafe, the second in Washio Mie's popular Derakomi “Café love story” series (following Love Café). Previews behind the cut.

Published in Indonesia as
Suddenly in Love
by Gramedia/m&c!

Mangazines: Cherry 60/2011
Suddenly in Love by Konno Risa and Captured by Love by Ichikawa Show debut

m&c! adds Betsucomi manga to its Ciao/ChuChu/Sho-Comi/Flowers line-up. Cherry Issue 60 sees the premiere of Suddenly in Love, Konno Risa's Sweet Boy ni Goyoujin and while Ichikawa Show's Koakuma Lion is originally from Sho-Comi, it, too, debuts, retitled Captured by Love. The Childhood Friends, Tsundere, Christmas, Cool Boy, Unrequited Love Suddenly in Love and Childhood Friends, Modeling, Older Female/Younger Male, Childcare Captured by Love first chapter covers »here and »here.

As for other series still running in Cherry, I would assume: Dawn Aria by Akaishi Michiyo, I am not a Maid! by Iwaoka Meme, My Lovely Class Leader by Nishimura Tomoko and Yomogi Loves Money? by Arai Kiyoko. If I'm wrong and/or missed any title, please add/correct in the comments :)

Koloni Jagoan 5: Blade Bunny, Spray King 4 of 4, Words of Love by Sugiyama Miwako (m&c! 30 November 2011 manga)

Hidup, komik Indonesia! Yup, top DO WANT! this m&c! release is home-grown Koloni Jagoan volume 5.

Koloni Jagoan 5: Blade Bunny (m&c!)

Koloni Jagoan 5: Blade Bunny © Eric Kimball and Erwin Prasetya
Published by Gramedia/m&c!

Blade Bunny, the collaboration between American writer Eric Kimball and Indonesian comic artist Erwin Prasetya, tells the story of a sassy but deadly ninja as he/she/it faces off against a samurai clan and killer robots.

The fifth Koloni Jagoan also includes a new installment of C. Suryo Laksono's SEER: The Genchildren. A covert government agency sends a group of Indonesian children into the future to "save Indonesia." The kids are separated and land in different times and places; one of them, Abi, touches down in a country where the robots are masters and the humans, slaves. Abi, together with Tio, another Indonesian and the child of a tofu vendor, leads the human resistance against the mechanical despots.

The third story is Prajurit Dewa: Hero After Death by Hendrianto P.P. Long, long ago, the heavens were thrown in a frenzy by a savage demon with powers rivaling those of a god. A supernal trio casts a forbidden spell to create an equally vicious demon, Garuda, the invincible warrior god. Thousands of years hence, a new power awakens, a power that humans would kill for.

Now on to the manga side —

Spray King vol 4 of 4
By Mikuni Shin

The “lust”-driven battle peaks, forcing Spray King to cover the entire city with graffiti. But can Spray King protect all of Kotobuki's districts against The Boss?

New m&c! titles
Four new one-shot shoujo tankou: A Kiss in the Night, Yagami Rina's Yogoto Akuma to Kiss o Suru first serialized in Sho-Comi Zoukan; Love Comedy or Love Come, Morita Fuji's manga take on the novel penned by Matsuhisa Atsushi and Tanaka Wataru;Love is in The Air, Nanajima Kana's ex-Sho-Comi Air Koi anthology; and Words of Love, Sugiyama Miwako's Ai no Kotoba, originally serialized in ChuChu. Debuts previewed after the release list.

Cherry 59/2011 (m&c!)

Mangazines: Cherry 59/2011
m&c! hypes the ending of Ichikawa Show's I Love Dog and You and Nakamura Sayumi's Always by Your Side in the latest Cherry. I assume the final I Love Dog and You is the the second of two Inu Jikan one-shots, Himitsu no Chikara, as the first—Sweet Love or Amakuchi Koigokoro—appeared in Cherry 58. I likewise assume that the last Always by Your Side is also a one-shot off Itsumo Soba ni Koi no Uta because Issue 58 featured the Addicted to Love (Koi no Mayaku) extra story.

Also running in the Indonesian Ciao/ChuChu/Sho-Comi/Flowers mangazine: Akaishi Michiyo's Dawn Aria josei manga (Akatsuki no ARIA, serialized in Flowers; latest m&c! tankou compile: volume 7 per December 2010); I am not a Maid! by Iwaoka Meme (Maid ja Naimon!, serialized in Ciao); My Lovely Class Leader by Nishimura Tomoko (Gokujou Mechamote Iinchou, also serialized in Ciao); latest m&c! My Lovely Class Leader vol 5 released 9 November); My Mysterious Neighbor by Nakajima Yuka (Tonari no Obake-san, another Ciao manga); Sweet Dog's Stories by Hotta Atsuko (need to confirm if the newest episode is also from Tengoku no Monogatari ~Zutto, Zutto, Isshoni~); and Arai Kiyoko's Yomogi Loves Money? (Yomogi Mochi Kaketa? first serialized in ChuChu).

Bleach 43, Tabi and Fellow Travelers 2, Samurai Force 1 by Todono Seiuchiroh (m&c! 26 October 2011 manga) [UPDATED]

Also new: Roman Club 1 by Amano Kozue and 7 Centi! Love & Friendship 1-3 of 3 by Nanajima Kana.

Samurai Force 1 (m&c!)

Eleven Soul © Todono Seiuchiroh/Mag Garden
[Serialized in Comic Blade]
Published in Indonesia as Samurai Force by Gramedia/m&c!

Settle for MinimaList for nau~ Will be back later with deets AKA NikBabble™ and artwork. Done, albeit mucho, mucho delayed :P

Takemichi is suddenly promoted to the elite Samurai Force. With no military background whatsoever, can he survive?

Methinks we need a bit more background to Samurai Force than m&c!'s tease: Japan, mid-21st century: the government creates a "samurai" unit to challenge the dominance of the Shahel, immortality gene- and biohazard hybrids ravaging the North and South American continents. The Samurai Force deploys nano-machine-enhanced soldiers to combat the menace that wipes out even the United States. Tsukahara Takemichi finds himself the newest member of the 1st platoon. [Adapted from Baka-Updates Manga's Eleven Soul description]

Gene Splice × Uniforms Samurai Force debuted in 2006 in Comic Blade, and the shounen mecha action continues (to serialize) in that mangazine. The first tankou was compiled by August 2006, the latest volume 11 streeted as of 8 October.

Samurai Force represents the second Todono Seiuchiroh manga m&c! has licensed; the first, Innocent Blade Unveil, launched last September. For other Todono Seiuchiroh manga « click that link. I don't think any sea change swamped Todono-sensei's backlist since I last wrote about it.

Rest of the newbs below the release list. Up here, up next: top DO WANT!

Bleach vol 43: Kingdom of Hollows
By Kubo Tite

Aizen's ingress into battle pressures Gotei 13 to join forces with the Visored, if only for a shot at taking down the traitor. But before they can get to Aizen, they must first crush Barragan and Starrk, the Primera Espada.

Easier sed than done :P

Volume 43's front cover is Segunda Espada Baraggan Louisenbairn, so don't blame me for not leading with it/him, not when—Takemichi?—is too terribly bishie. Neway, Bleach 43: Kingdom of Hollows collates chapters 368 to 377: The Fearless Child, Spit On Your Own God, 神の視座にて 命を論ず or Debating Life From the Throne of God, Kingdom of Hollows, The Metal Cudgel Flinger, Wolves Ain't Howl Alone, 灰狼・赤血・黒衣・白骨 or Gray Wolf, Red Blood, Black Clothing, White Bone, EXecution, EXtinction, EXecution, EXtinction 2 and Shout at the Dark. [Obviously NOT m&c!'s chapter titles] The latest Bleach chapter bound in tankou is 459, Death & Strawberry 2, compiled in Volume 52: End of Bond (Japan release: 2011.10.04).

Pluto 8 (m&c!)

Pluto © Urasawa Naoki × Tezuka Osamu/Shogakukan
[First serialized in Big Comic Original]
Published in Indonesia by Gramedia/m&c!

Yes, yes, Bleach 42 is the m&c! top DO WANT!, but as Urasawa Naoki × Tezuka Osamu's Pluto ends this release, the latter gets the pix lead while the former has to settle for first blurb. Okee?

Gotei 13 faces off against the top three Espada, but in the midst of battle, Garganta rips open! Who joins the fray — friend or foe?

As Garganta is how Arrancars and Hollows move to and from Hueco Mundo, what are the chances that it's gonna throw up a friendly? :P

Bleach Volume 42: Shock of the Queen (cover girl: Tier Harribel) compiles chapters 359 through 367: The Frozen Obelisk, Shock of the Queen, I Hate Loneliness, But It Loves Me, Howling Wolves, Superchunky from Hell, Grinning Revengers, Whose Side Are We On, The Revenger's High and YOUR ENEMY IS MY ENEMY. Pluto 8 of 8 by Urasawa Naoki × Tezuka Osamu

In a time when robots and humans peacefully co-exist, Europol robot detective Gesicht attempts to track down a human and robot serial killer. Is the sadistic perp a robot or a human?

New m&c! manga
Now that we're minus Clock Maker's Love and Song of the Sky, we only have...seven newbies to anticipate. Only over half of the total manga titles streeting. Poor us. :D

The Leftover Seven: Crown Latte by Odagiri Nagisa, Fragments of Summer by Amano Shinobu, My Lovely Chef by Hirama Kaname, Ignite Wedge 1 by Tutumi Yoshisada, Innocent Blade Unveil by Todono Seiuchiroh, Tabi and Fellow Travelers 1 by Tanakanoka and World of Dreams by Amano Kozue of Aria fame.

The Plus One: Endang Soekamti - Long Live My Family, a KOLONI manga-bio by @tonytrax, creator of Real Masjid.

Because Clock Maker's Love got shunted to 12 October, featuring Fragments of Summer by Amano Shinobu up here. (Look for other debut previews after the release list.)

by m&c!

Miyuki barges into the wrong hospital room, and comes face to face with the rudest guy on the planet. Or so it seems. Still, she ends up spending days with Madoka and they actually become friends plus.

But Miyuki's countryside stay has a deadline, and it is fast approaching. What will happen to Miyuki and Madoka when summer ends, as it must?

The other Fragments of Summer one-shots are Fragments of Snow, Fragments of Love, Waiting for the Spring Novel and The Color of Autumn, The Color of You, in which heroine Kanako falls for cold, aloof and rude Ihara. Yup, uncivilitiy again rulez, albeit in autumn. [Akiiro Kimiiro snap synopsis adapted from Baka-Updates Manga's Natsu no Kakera entry]

Other Amano Shinobu manga
Aside from ex-Lala Special Natsu no Kakera, could only unearth the two-volume Katakoi Triangle, first serialized in LaLa DX and LaLa Special and tankou-ized in January and November 2009. Baka-Updates Manga, however, adds Last Gameラストゲーム」, charas of which look like they walked out of a Minami Maki manga.
