T'is the season of hectic—I need a holiday from the holidays—but I managed to sneak away to post this MinimaList. Artwork and NikBabble™ when I can next snatch another time window. Update: Snatched enuf albeit very, VERY belated

Even if Chiaki is still wrasslin' with White Rose until the last dress rehearsal, on D-Day, the performance stuns the audience with perfection. Chiaki, too, gets a sweet surprise smack in the middle of The Magic Flute opera.

But what about Nodame?

Well, just like Chiaki, Nodame, too, receives a delightful gift in the Nodame Cantabile finale, which means everyone who invested in our couple and the kooky cast supporting them can close their personal Nodame Cantabile chapter with goony grins and/or satisfied sighs :) (Telor Ceplok contributor Lina-chan in the comments gives the finale a 9 of 10 ♥ and deems it a Must-Have in your manga library.)

Two titles tied for the first runner-up DO WANT! — Yakitate!! Japan vol 25 and Yozakura Quartet vol 2. Find their previews below the release list.

Erementar Gerad 2, Gamaran 1 by Nakamaru Yosuke, Love Sick 3 of 3 (m&c! 7 December 2011 manga) [UPDATED]

Debuting Gamaran snaps up first runner-up DO WANT!, but Most Wanted m&c! manga remains Erementar Gerad 2. Just sayin'.

Gamaran 1 (m&c!)

Gamaran © by Nakamaru Yosuke/Kodansha
[Serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine]
Published in Indonesia by Gramedia/m&c!

Gamaran takes place during the middle Edo period. One "demon" state, Unabara, attracts martial artists who know naught else but fighting. Unabara's daimyo Washitzu Naosata is searching for a successor from among his 31 sons, and for this purpose, holds a tournament to determine who will later rule in his stead. Each son must field a champion in the tourney, to fight other chosen warriors until only one is left standing. The son who backs up the winner will become Unabara's next ruler.

To ensure his ascent to power, one of the daimyo's sons Naoyoshi picks Kurogane Gama, son of the legendary swordsman Kurogane Jinsuke, said to have slain at least a thousand men. Gama agrees, but can the youth best fighters much more experienced than he?

Gamaran, serializing in Weekly Shonen Magazine, appears to be Nakamaru Yosuke-sensei's debut series. (I couldn't find any other manga attributed to him.) Thirteen volumes have been released as of 17 November 2011. The fourteenth tankou streets in Japan on 17 January.

Aside from the shounen Gamaran, Dear! from Mitsuki Kaco also debuts—and concludes—this street date. The Childhood Friends, Love Triangle, Summer shoujo romance first serialized in Betsucomi and Deluxe Betsucomi.

Several series are also ending. In addition to Morie Satoshi's Love Sick, Yamada Nanpei's How to be a Man also curtains, as does Hwang MiRee's My Own Princess. I'll try to fill in the deets later if RL lets up a bit. (I nego'ed with it to at least let me produce a shopping list.) »Edit: Previews heeeere! (below).

Slam Dunk Deluxe 2, The Knight in the Area 1, Demon King 35 (Elex Media 7 December 2011 manga) [UPDATED]

I'll do my Ganbaruzo! best to fill in the NikBabble™ sometime this week. For nau, settle for the MinimaList Plus. ✓ Done!

The Knight in the Area 1 (Elex Media)

Area no Kishi © by Igano Hiroaki & Tsukiyama Kaya/Kodansha
[Serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine]
Published in Indonesia as The Knight in the Area by Elex Media Komputindo

Slam Dunk Deluxe volume 2 (Rukawa!!) is the top DO WANT! of this Elex release, but the debuting The Knight in the Area wasn't too far behind. Hence, leading with the licensed Area no Kishi (unfortunately, there's a pirated version running around :P).

If you're not familiar with The Knight in the Area, let me quote from ANN, which recently reported Area no Kishi's upcoming anime adapt:

The story centers around Kakeru Aizawa, the younger brother of the Kamakura School soccer team captain Suguru. While Suguru is so talented in soccer that he has been made part of Japan's national under-15 team, Kakeru is so weak at the sport that he is nicknamed “Mr. No Goal.” Kakeru's life changes however, after a tragic accident.

The soccer manga serializes in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The 28th tankou shipped in Japan last 17 November; the 29th is skedded for 17 January 2012. The Teamwork, Character Growth, Siblings, Mourning, Rivalry, Romantic Subplot, Strong Female Side Character story is written by Igano Hiroaki. What's in a name? How about Agi Tadashi (The Drops of God), Amagi Seimaru (Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo), Ando Yuma (Psychometrer Eiji), Ryuumon Ryou (Bloody Monday) and Aoki Yuya (GetBackers)? Yup, same person.

Manga-ka Tsukiyama Kaya-sensei, meanwhile, is also credited with the shounen fantasy Life Life, first serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine (Japanese tankou street date: 2012.01.17).

More previews (and NikBabble™) after the release list.
