Erementar Gerad 3, Gamaran 2, Namida Usagi 5 (m&c! 4 January 2012 manga) [UPDATED]

Update: Eyecandy, anyone?

Namida Usagi ~Tears of First Love~ 5 (m&c!)

Namida Usagi ~Seifuku no Kataomoi~ © Minase Ai/Shogakukan
[Serialized in Sho-Comi]
Published in Indonesia as Namida Usagi ~Tears of First Love~ by Gramedia/m&c!

Narumi confesses to Momoka, relieving Momoka of her unrequited love. But does this mean they're officially a couple? Despite saying he loves her, Narumi doesn't ask Momoka to be his girlfriend. Is he just leading her on? What's worse, Moa reappears begging, "Don't take Taka away from me..."

I really feel like booting Moa eternally from the scene and hoping that Narumi makes Momoka happy from here on out. But looking at the bewildered Momoka on the back cover (left)—and mindful that Namida Usagi has released eight volumes in Japan, with the ninth on the way (2012.02.24 street date)—we still have some ways to go before a definitive Happy Even After :P

Now for the top DO WANT!

Erementar Gerad vol 3 of 18
By Azuma Mayumi

To protect Ren, Arc Aile decides to spirit her back to its more easily defensible HQ, but Ren has other ideas. She pleads to be set free to reach Edel Garden. Why does Ren want to go there so badly?

Gamaran vol 2 of 13+
By Nakamaru Yosuke

The daimyou's 31 sons jostle for a shot at succeeding their father and ruling Unabara: the champions they field in Unabara's tournament of attrition will determine who will ascend to power.

Kurogane Gama, representing Washitzu Naoyoshi, faces Ten'gen fighters, masters in Naginata jutsu. He manages to subdue Ren'Ge, but can he withstand the true power of Baian Maki, Ten'gen's head honcho?

Thirteen Gamaran tankou have been compiled in Japan as of November 2011. Volume 14 is scheduled for a 17 January 2012 release.

New m&c! titles
Two Cherry mangazine series graduate to tankou: Always by Your Side (Itsumo Soba ni Koi no Uta) by Nakamura Sayumi and I Love Dog and You (Inu Jikan) by Ichikawa Show. I preview the shoujo manga pair, one ex-ChuChu and the other originally serialized in Sho-Comi, below the release list.

[RE-STO] Restocked - Individual volumes and Reprints
For those still looking to complete their collections, m&c! restocks Bleach volume 1 through 40. The latest m&c! volume, however, is Volume 44: Vice It, released November 2011. Still, this restock covers four-plus years-worth of Bleach manga in Indonesia :)

m&c! also reprints "Bestseller" one-shot tankou from Fujita Nimi, Usami Tae, Yagami Chitose, Ono Eriko and Seino Shizuru. List and snap synops below.

My Pearl Girl 2, Lost Seven 2, Love Zipper by Shiraishi Yuki (m&c! 14 December 2011 manga)

My Pearl Girl 2 (m&c!)

Present wa Shinju © Saito Ken/Hakusensha [Serialized in LaLa DX and LaLa Special]. Published in Indonesia as My Pearl Girl by Gramedia/m&c!

To get him used to women, Edward Robell's faithful servants gift their lord with ‘Shinju.’ Contrary to Edward's first impression, Shinju is also noble-born and apparently the ‘S’ in Shinju stands for ‘Sadist.’ She just lurves toying with Edward.

What happens when Edward's good buddy Nicolas falls for Shinju?

Looks like you (we) will have to settle for My Pearl Girl 2 for a while; there's no sign yet of a third Present wa Shinju even in its home country.

Alternatively, you (we) can get invested in Lost Seven (m&c! has released half of the four-volume series) or the debuting one-shot shoujo tankou Love Zipper by Shiraishi Yuki.

In Lost Seven volume 2, Tanrou vanishes and the six Bry warriors are separated after Queen Rose's defeat. Ten years pass and a demon clan occupies Castle Wallbarakiss. The people are starving and suffer cruel oppression. Just when all seems hopeless, Tanrou, believed dead, returns with a young girl who is none other than Queen Rose's daughter.

In Love Zipper, Airi works at Rose Fan Fan, a fashion boutique specializing in Cute with a Capital C. Airi believes that all girls can look pretty and with her advice, they do. But Airi doesn't only make her customers appear beautiful and stylish, she also helps solve their love problems. Too bad she can't do something about her own romance with Tokiya. Erementar Gerad 2, Gamaran 1 by Nakamaru Yosuke, Love Sick 3 of 3 (m&c! 7 December 2011 manga) [UPDATED]

Debuting Gamaran snaps up first runner-up DO WANT!, but Most Wanted m&c! manga remains Erementar Gerad 2. Just sayin'.

Gamaran 1 (m&c!)

Gamaran © by Nakamaru Yosuke/Kodansha
[Serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine]
Published in Indonesia by Gramedia/m&c!

Gamaran takes place during the middle Edo period. One "demon" state, Unabara, attracts martial artists who know naught else but fighting. Unabara's daimyo Washitzu Naosata is searching for a successor from among his 31 sons, and for this purpose, holds a tournament to determine who will later rule in his stead. Each son must field a champion in the tourney, to fight other chosen warriors until only one is left standing. The son who backs up the winner will become Unabara's next ruler.

To ensure his ascent to power, one of the daimyo's sons Naoyoshi picks Kurogane Gama, son of the legendary swordsman Kurogane Jinsuke, said to have slain at least a thousand men. Gama agrees, but can the youth best fighters much more experienced than he?

Gamaran, serializing in Weekly Shonen Magazine, appears to be Nakamaru Yosuke-sensei's debut series. (I couldn't find any other manga attributed to him.) Thirteen volumes have been released as of 17 November 2011. The fourteenth tankou streets in Japan on 17 January.

Aside from the shounen Gamaran, Dear! from Mitsuki Kaco also debuts—and concludes—this street date. The Childhood Friends, Love Triangle, Summer shoujo romance first serialized in Betsucomi and Deluxe Betsucomi.

Several series are also ending. In addition to Morie Satoshi's Love Sick, Yamada Nanpei's How to be a Man also curtains, as does Hwang MiRee's My Own Princess. I'll try to fill in the deets later if RL lets up a bit. (I nego'ed with it to at least let me produce a shopping list.) »Edit: Previews heeeere! (below).

Roman Club 2, The Breaker 1 by Jeon KeukJin & Park JinHwan, Full House: Love Continues 1 by Won SooYeon (m&c! 16 November 2011 manga and manhwa) [UPDATE]

It was a toss-up between leading with The Breaker or Full House: Love Continues (yup, that's Full House II). The Breaker will just have to settle for Above the Cut newbie spotlight later when I turn this MinimaList into the usual extended NikBabble™. Edit: No longer a MinimaList

Full House: Love Continues 1 (m&c!)

Full House II © Won SooYeon
Published in Indonesia as Full House: Love Continues by Gramedia/m&c!

Raider and Elli have been married a year yet they still act like they're on their honeymoon. What happens to all that lovey dovey bliss when Raider is implicated in an adulterous scandal with Sabina? How will Elli cope?

I've never read the prequel Full House nor watched its K-drama adapt; those two conditions plus two more reasons stop me from getting Full House: Love Continues: (1) Each volume retails for IDR 25,000—so you're looking at investing IDR 125,000 for the Full (House II) set—and (2) Peeps who've read it pan the first volume as average.

Not to be ungrateful *bows to m&c!* but rather than Full House II, I would've preferred Maerineun Uibakjoong—yes, that's Mary Stayed Out All Night—that was adapted into a K-drama like Full House. (Full House II likewise gets the live-action treatment, but you'll only see it from March 2012 onwards.)

Other Won SooYeon (or Won Soo Yeon; Sooyeon Won; Won Son Yeon; Won Su-Yeon; Won Suyeon; Woon Soo-yeon) manhwa include the angst, Bad Boy BL Let Dai (15 volumes) and the Romeo×Juliet-esque Elio and Yvette (10 volumes). I don't know if m&c! or any other Indonesian publisher ever licensed these series.

Word on The Breaker 1, however, has been positive with a capital P. What gives? Let's check out m&c!'s blurb:

The Breaker 1 (m&c!)

The Breaker © Jeon KeukJin,
Park JinHwan
Daiwon C.I. [Young Daiwon]
Published in Indonesia
by Gramedia/m&c!

High school student Lee Shi Woon is no stranger to oppression. The target of bullies with alarming frequency, Shi Woon witnesses Han Chun Woo in action and resolves to become the martial artist's disciple. Especially after he learns that Han Chun Woo inspires fear even in the world of Murim, home to the toughest fighters.

Additional deets there from Baka-Updates Manga, which goes on to say that Chun Woo is actually an English teacher (aren't they all? Cf. Faster than a Kiss). Chun Woo agrees to train Shi Woon if the many-times victim leaps off a bridge to prove his intent.

It turns out, however, that Chun-Woo and his powers are more than meets the eye. Shioon makes a grand entrance into the hidden world of martial arts, and he is about to be taught by the best there is!

That's Chun Woo on the cover, BTW. (Thanks, @regular_ARI-san ^^v)

Baka-Updates adds that Part 1 of 3 ends with Volume 10 (the final volume tally I use), followed by The Breaker: New Waves (one volume per October 2011, ongoing). Moar on other manhwa from Jeon KeukJin and Park JinHwan after the release list, but lemme just note that Park JinHwan created Archlord and that Jeon KeukJin is co-credited for Ruler of the Land (published by Elex).

Other m&c! debuts: Lost Seven 1, written by Nakashima Kazuki and illustrated by Ko Yasung (originally serialized in Comic Blade), and 2 × one-shot tankou: Cinderella's Wish, originally Ayumi Rin's Usotsuki na Kanojo (ex-Sho-Comi) and Love That I Should Have (Shite, Okeba Yokatta Koukai) by Mizutani Ai, first serialized in Cheese!. Previews after the release list.

There's also the latest in the Who? manhwa-bio seriesSteve Jobs. You can bet the late visionary's 2005 Standford commencement address is the highlight.
