DEFENSE DEVIL 2

Defense Devil © Youn In Wan & Yang Kyung Il/Shogakukan [Serialized in Shonen Sunday]
Published in Singapore by Chuang Yi

Talk about a pain in the neck: demon counsel Kucabara has to defend a walking nescient disaster of a client who waives the right to remain silent and incriminates himself, much to the glee of Reapers already calling dibs on the accused's Dark Matter in Defense Devil 2.

Meanwhile, more bad news: Teito loses The Eye of Mikhail to Ayanami's soldiers, despite collective Frau/Castor/Labrador attempts to prevent the very thing from happening. On the bright side (or as bright as his murky circumstances allow), Teito begins to regain memories beyond those of a battle slave designed to kill. Just in time as the clergy examinations that would grant freedom—and the chance to recover The Eye—starts in 07-GHOST 4.

A word about TSUBASA Reservoir Chronicle 28 of 28...

When I checked two weeks ago, the English conclusion of CLAMP's TSUBASA had been pegged as a Coming soon, along with Black Lagoon 8, earlier reported shipping on 17 August. Black Lagoon 8 remains an upcoming; however, CY's Available Issues for TSUBASA Reservoir Chronicle now sez TSUBASA 28 Release[d] on 2010-07-06.

Can anyone independently confirm? Meanwhile, I will insert it into the 6 July list. I know, I know, it's a done deal, but I still can't let Syaoran × Sakura bid bye-bye (Wail!) just like that. Not after these seven-plus years. Thanks muchness.

Now back to our regularly-skedded programming.

07-GHOST 3, La Corda d'Oro 11, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 6 (Chuang Yi 3 August 2010 English manga)

金色のコルダ 11

Kiniro no Corda © Kure Yuki/Hakusensha (Serialized in LaLa)
Published in Singapore as La Corda d'Oro by Chuang Yi

Contains [SPOILERS!]

A new transfer student claiming to have fallen for Kaho-chan makes Tsuchiura's hackles rise. So much so that he insinuates himself at the invitation-only training camp Tsukimori and Shimizu have gone to. (What's the connect? *shrugs*)

Despite Tsuchiura's ire, no blood is shed in La Corda d'Oro volume 11, I don't think, and the SOS BRIGADE might spill some only metaphorically in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya — when it starts filming The Movie for the cultural fest in volume 6 — but there probably will be some of the scarlet, deoxyribonucleic acid-carrying variety in 07-GHOST 3, what with traitorous shenanigans afoot.

The rest of the Chuang Yi summaries and covers, as well as the rundown of simplified Chinese manga streeting today are after the English manga list below.
