Will replace with an m&c! cover when a big enuf one shows up. » Done (Btw, if these manga and manhwa weren't available yet on the 19th, Monday, try succeeding days. m&c! actually dates these releases for the 21st.)

Seiyuu-Ka! Lovely Voice 4 (m&c!)

Seiyuu-Ka! © Minami Maki/Hakusensha [Serialized in Hana to Yume]
Published in Indonesia as Seiyuu-Ka! Lovely Voice by Gramedia/m&c!

Before we get into the struggles of a voice star, the travails of an idol —

The entire boarding school is in an uproar over Kang Ahul—disguised as his twin sister—making out with idol Hwang SeRyun. The real Song Yie, meanwhile, falls into Ha Jin Chae's trap to make Seo GaYoon jealous.

How will Romeo (GaYoon) react when he sees his Juliet in bed with SeRyun? Complication as only Hwang MiRee can conceive in the penultimate Idol Shopping, INCOMING! (I think I'll hold off reading this volume until m&c! releases the 12th and last Idol Shopping :P)

Also sibling-induced headaches in another, similarly one more to go DO WANT!—

Kitchen Palette 2 of 3 by Takada Rie

Since apprenticing at L'aurora, Komugi has leveled up as—if not a sous chef, then at least a short-order cook? For sure, she's totally under owner chef Tetsuri's spell. Little does Komugi expect to find major competition for Tetsuri's attention so close to home — her own sister!

Will sis Azuki succeed where Komugi ‘failed’? You know what title to ask for (*whispers* Kitchen Palette ~Komugi's Love Flavor in Training volume 2).

Meanwhile, Hime finally graduates from hell's training camp in

Seiyuu-Ka! Lovely Voice 4 of 7+ by Minami Maki

Thanks to Mizuki's glasses, Hime manages to act like a prince, and now is all fired up for her first seiyuu role as Shiro. But sound director Yajima and staff treat Hime no better than a nuisance. Without losing any of her genki, Hime rushes Senri's apartment to give the performance of a (short) lifetime.

Moar previews after the release list.

Bleach 40, Hai Miiko 23, Female Wolf's Boy 17 of 17, Seiyuu-Ka! Lovely Voice 1 by Minami Maki (m&c! 1 June 2011 manga and manhwa) [UPDATE2]

Update: I've revised my initial verdict on Love Class by Ayumi Rin. Look for my longer (and fairer) review shortly Done, reviewed here.

Bleach 40: The Lust (m&c!)

Bleach © Kubo Tite/Shueisha [Serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump]
Published in Indonesia by Gramedia/m&c!

Fifty Bleach 40 volumes were delivered to my neighborhood Elex Comic Center on STO day. What's the big deal with 50 books? Well, the other m&c! titles only totaled 20 each, max. I'm sure Ulquiorra-sama is happy :D

Previously on Bleach...

May contain   [SPOILERS!]

Back in Hueco Mundo, Ichigo fights Ulquiorra; although neither of them use all their powers, Ulquiorra continues overpowering Ichigo.

In Bleach 40: The Lust,

Ulquiorra releases his zanpakutō which increases his powers to the point that Ichigo is virtually helpless before him. As Ichigo refuses to give up, Ulquiorra makes a second zanpakutō release and blows a hole in Ichigo's chest.

Both synopses come from Wiki's Bleach summaries as m&c!'s only goes as far as The battle between Ichigo and Ulquiorra continues! To bring Orihime out of Las Noches, Ichigo must fight desperately against Ulquiorra.

Bleach Volume 40: The Lust compiles chapters 341 through 349: The Envy, The Greed, The Gluttony, The Pride, The Sloth, The Wrath, The Lust, The Lust 2 and The Lust 3.

Female Wolf's BOY 17 of 17 by Han YuRang

Cha EunSoo is kidnapped again, and this time, her captors don't pull their punches. An already battered Gang JaeHee shields EunSoo from their blows; his former girlfriend cries her heart out when he falls unmoving on top of her...

So that's the lowdown, heading into Female Wolf's BOY, The End.

With the conclusion of FWB—and Sandwich Girl—that's a wrap for the 2 × Han YuRang series from the original 4 × 132 x 200mm soonjung manhwa m&c! launched under a year ago. Of the quartet, only Hwang MiRee's Idol Shopping and Ugly Duckling Become Swan remain current, although the latter only until next week. (UDBS 13 streets on the 8th.)

I preview the other series finales—Magical x Miracle (volume 6) and Out Code (volume 3)—after the release list.

Hai, Miiko! 23 of 23+ by Ono Eriko

Hey, today's Father's Day! 父の日、おめでとう。

Miiko was supposed to buy Daddy a gift, but she forgot. And now, all she has left is 32 yen [around IDR 3,400]. Can Miiko make her dad happy with spare change?

Elex's 6.01 STO excludes Hai, Miiko! 23 from the release list, an omission m&c! rectifies. I don't know when the Miiko Chichi no hi story first came out, but the tank streeted March 2010 in Japan. Japan celebrates Father's Day on the third Sunday in June, which means 19th June this year (the 20th last year).

by m&c!

Of the manga debuts, the one spawning the most Kyaaa~s is the Voice Acting love comedy Seiyuu-Ka! Lovely Voice from the creator of Special A, Minami Maki.

Kino Hime enrolls into the voice acting department of Hiiragi Academy, the prestigious seiyuu high school famous for launching voice actors to stardom. Hime's dream is to become the lead CV (character voice) of the hit anime “Lovely Blazers.”

There's only one problem — a couple, actually: Hime's unlovely voice and her lack of grace, both of which land her in detention with three other delinquents.

If only to find out why this Hana to Yume series is listed under Gender Bender, am taking Seiyuu-Ka! Lovely Voice for a spin. (I lurve the Reverse Trap trope, though I could care less about Tsundere, Tsundere Male Lead with which this manga is also tagged.

I mentioned S•A at the top, but m&c! has also published Minami Maki-sensei's Kimi wa Girlfriend and Anemone Flower Shop.

As for the other new titles, we get megane moe redux in Glasses Boys' Fans Club by Kawamaru Shin (Glasses Boys' Lovers' sib); Love Triangle, anyone? Heroine Complex by Naoda Tsuboko; Whoa! this Teacher is Scary! Love Class by Ayumi Rin (I pan this below Prematurely, as it turns out.); “I will punish you in the name of Love!” Love Samurai by Aoi Michiru and Kleenex alert! My Tiger Boy by Sakisaka Mea (two-volume launch). All Shogakukan shoujo manga, all Sho-Comi alumni, except Ciao grad Love Samurai and ex-Betsucomi Glasses Boys' Fans Club. (I preview these manga below the release list.)

[RE-STO]: If you missed some (or all) volumes of Fujieda Tohru's Dragon Girl, or Sakamoto Miku's Nekomachi Shop Guide, or Shigematsu Takako's Not An Angel, now's your chance to complete your collection.

Anemone Flower Shop (m&c!)

Ane☆Mone Seikaten © Minami Maki/Hakusensha
[First serialized in Hana to Yume]
Published in Indonesia as Anemone Flower Shop by Gramedia/m&c!

I now know why I couldn't find a match for The Lady and the Sea in Morie Satoshi's backlist; the series was created by Abiko Miwa of Yayan's Heart fame. (Was misled by the 29 September STO which attributed The Lady and the Sea to Satoshi Morie, School Hotel's manga-ka.)

But before I delve further into m&c!'s premieres (and there are five of them), let's blurb that Most Wanted manga first—A Badboy Drinks Tea! 9—which unseals a Pandora's Box:

Why did Masaya become “The Devil”? More importantly, what led him down the path of “reform”?

As Ma-kun's liking of the club president goes through the roof, the harder he finds it to articulate his feelings. Does the past have anything to do with tongue-tiedness? But with Prez resigning from the sadou club and Ma-kun's ideal youth threatened, will “The Devil” finally 'fess up?

NEW M&c! TITLES: Still Life with Girl ♡ Power

Three standalones—Anemone Flower Shop by Minami Maki, Shimokita Sundays by Katsuma Ayahito/Ishida Ira, You Are My Wing by Kitagawa Yuka—as well as two new series—Sky Blue Beach by Yamada Nanpei and (the copy pasta victim) Lady and the Sea by Abiko Miwa—await you this Wednesday.

Again I'm allocating this Above the Cut real estate for only one newbie: Anemone Flower Shop or Ane☆Mone Seikaten, because, you know, it's by Minami Maki-sensei, and who doesn't love Special A? At any rate, you can read about the other debuts below. (Sky Blue Beach, in particular, is worth the scroll down.)

Anemone Flower Shop by Minami Maki

Petite senior high student Saeki Mone falls hard for you wouldn't know it from his face fifth-grader Anesaki Ren. To get close to future darling, Mone part-times at the Anemone florist shop owned by Ren's family. Imagine her dismay when she learns that Ren already likes someone else!

If I deciphered the Japanese blurb right, Mone is 143cm tall to Ren's 182cm. If you can get past the (slight) squick of a Senior High Schooler × Grade Schooler, I'm sure Anemone Flower Shop promises more than a bit of happy. (Remember the Kimi wa Girlfriend precedent?)

Aside from the title story, this anthology contains one-shots Everyday is a Treasure, BATSUSAN and Day Dream Believer, for which Minami Maki-sensei won the Hakusensha Athena Newcomers' Award.

MANGAZINES: Cherry 47/2010 premieres The Ring of God...

...though I doubt Youhen Nibelungen no Yubiwa is the original to which that title refers. Cherry, after all, is a shoujo mangazine (mainly Ciao- and ChuChu's), and Youhen Nibelungen no Yubiwa is a shounen manga — Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion's, at that. »Edit The Ring of God is Obara Shou's Kamisama no Ring. The Ciao serial promises only a short run, seeing as the 「神様のリング」 original is only one tankou long.

A trio of one-shots—Cool Boys Fight, My Family Problem and Happy Obaachan in America—likewise go uncredited in the Table of Contents, though I'm guessing the last is related to Akino Miru-sensei's Happy Obaachan series (likely a special) but Cool Boys Fight is actually a volume 7 omake of Nishimura Tomoko's My Lovely Class Leader (Gokujou!! Mecha Mote Iinchou); My Family Problem, a side story to Wagata Konomi's Togetherness or Isshoni Kaero; and Happy Obaachan in America was taken from Akino Miru's I Love Food and Karen-chan (Meshimase Karen-chan) series.

Cherry 47/2010 (m&c!)

It's easier to identify the cover of Cherry 47 (on teh left) — it's 7 Centi!, the ChuChu serial by Nanajima Kana (Crazy Love Game, Kick! and Love Trauma manga-ka). This Cherry's 7 Senchi! installment: Memory 4.

As for the more popular serials and their latest chapters —
Beauty Pop Stage 2 by Arai Kiyoko (Episode 12)
Dawn Aria by Akaishi Michiyo (Episode 24)
Love ♥ Deco by Jinna Mai (Episode 2)
Flying Ice Angel by Imai Yasue (Episode 4)
Pudding in Love by Shinozuka Hiromu

I still don't know where Bitter Trap by Miyawaki Yukino went. Has it finished?

New titles continued...

Lady and the Sea 1 of 2 by Abiko Miwa

Divorce sends Ryouko running home to her parents. Can son Kai and the old neighborhood help heal a broken heart?

Hakusensha originally released Umi wa Miteita Inu under HLC Silky, its josei imprint, in two tankou before re-releasing it in one volume.

Aside from the one-volume Yayan's Heart or Yayan no Kimochi, Abiko-sensei also created the Taigan no Kanojo and Aomame Akamame Hiyokomame standalones.

Shimokita Sundays by Katsuma Ayahito/Ishida Ira

The Shimokita Sundays acting troupe continues to wallow in penury, despite the group having been founded (ice) ages ago. Into the out of luck performers' midst comes university freshman Satonaka Yuika. Yuika's knowledge about acting—about the real world, in fact—can be summarized in a handful of sentences, but she stands to change Shimokita Sundays' destiny!

From the Japanese Wiki dates, the manga succeeded the 2006 vintage live-action renzoku starring Ueto Aya (Makihara Risa, Nagareboshi) as Satonaka Yuika. The TV Asahi drama, in turn, appears to have been an adapt of the Shimokita Sundays novel by Ishida Ira-sensei (creator of Akihabara@DEEP).

Katsuma Ayahito-sensei's current Betsufure serial is the shoujo love comedy Kamiya-kun to Kamiya-san.

Sky Blue Beach 1 of 6 by Yamada Nanpei

A resident of a coastal town (where one presumes a lower crime rate), high school student Sakurai Tomo never expected to become a molesting victim as she rides the bus. Fortunately for Tomo, someone comes to her rescue — someone who goes and drops a keychain at her feet, as if to say “Come find me!”

Tomo stumbles on to her knight, all right, and he turns out to be Tanaka Riku, the school's caretaker.

Serenus Dreamers (description excerpted by Baka-Updates Manga) adds that Chekhov's gun the stray keychain is set with an agate—similar to the stone Tomo received from a boy, long, long time ago—and speculates whether Tomo's savior is that guy from the past.

TOKYOPOP skeds the English Sorairo Kaigan (as Skyblue Shore) this November (volume 1 street date: 2010.11.30).

Yamada Nanpei-sensei's other current m&c! manga is How to be a Man; in Japan, her supernatural gender bender comedy Orange Chocolate is still being serialized in Bessatsu Hana to Yume.

You are My Wing by Kitagawa Yuka

“I thought I saw wings...”

Next to no knowledge, other than how high he jumps such that he looks airborne, hasn't stopped Aki from crushing on a boy in sixth grade. Now a ninth-grader, Aki meets Yuu, whose jumps remind her of her grade school crush. Are they one and the same person?

Aerandria Scans (description excerpted by Baka-Updates Manga) shares that there are incredible rumors surrounding Yuu. But if Aki has persevered since sixth grade, do you think mere gossip will stop her now? I don't think so...

Kitagawa Yuka-sensei's other works include Kareshi 1-gou; Kimi no Tonari; and Sensei, Daisuki na Hito, all standalone shoujo romances first serialized in Betsufure.
