Studio Pierrot's Bleach anime adaptation first broadcast in October 2004, continuing to this day. Season 15 opened with episode 266 in April 2010; latest episode 288 aired 2010.09.14). Seiyuu Morita Masakazu and Orikasa Fumiko star as Kurosaki Ichigo and Kuchiki Rukia, with Park Romi and Namikawa Daisuke playing 10th Division captain Hitsugaya Toshiro and Arrancar Ulquiorra Cifer respectively. Around wielding a shrill drill and reinventing dental trauma, Kai “promotes” Hideko to membership in the Dinosauria superorder, nicknaming her “Forgetasaurus.”

If Kai is such a bleeping *bleep*, how come when Hideko sees him getting close to his assistant, her H. sapiens heart blares out alarms? Has she (horrors!) actually fallen for Dr. Kai?

Salon For a Broken Heart equals Shitsuren Biyoushitsu, the Unrequited Love Beauty Parlor. The Sho-Comi omnibus compiles Ayumi Rin's variations on a theme shorts Salon For a Broken Heart, Until You Say You Love Me, Just a Little More Love, The Color of Your Destiny and Mobius Heartbreak.

My preliminary reaction: Forget the title story—about a girl who violates her school's hair code to attract her teacher's attention, only to find out that sed Sensei is transferring out—the fifth one-shot, Mobius Heartbreak, about a girl (Kirie), who makes an appointment at the Salon for the Heartbroken because of her ill-starred love for her sib, promises a more rewarding read. (But that's just me; your mileage may vary.)

And sasuga Hana to Yume, the shoujo romance comedy features a Strong Female Lead, Lifestyle Change, Delinquent/s, Ex-Delinquent/s, Reverse Harem, Crossdressing, Student-Teacher Relationship — not to mention teh usual elfin pretty-pretty chara designs. Arrested and consequently expelled, juvie Kurosaki Mafuyu is banished to a countryside high school to reflect on her misdeeds. The “penitent” Mafuyu decides to make herself over into a No gang boss here! high school girl, but her past clings like a blood stain, or a boot camp instructor. Before Mafuyu can even present herself as the new transfer student to her class, she gets into a fight trying to save some random guy from getting his a*se kicked.

AMERO BDs and KOLONI local comics

Foot 2 Rue: Street Soccer

Team Blue's quest to uphold the Street Soccer Code continues in Mariolle & Cardona's Foot 2 Rue: Street Soccer. In volume 3, Tag faces getting thrown out of the game; Tek is hospitalized; and Gabriel can't compete, while in Foot 2 Rue: Street Soccer 4, the Blue Team embarks for Dakar for the finals between the strongest African teams.

Meanwhile, Garudaboi, Pendekar Pentung, om Bajuri, and Intan return in volume 2 of Garudaboi by Galang Tirtakusuma (who also created the action comic Hopper). In the latest comedic Garudaboi outing, super hero 4L4Y is joined by Garudamanly-man and Spidercat-man.

Two KOLONI local comics also debut: Fix-up from Ekyu, the creator of the horror mystery Morte, and Cermin Putih (White Mirror), a collab between Fachreza Octavio and LSS.

Fix-up tells the hilarious story of a bumbling fixer who doesn't live up to the problem solver demi-god stereotype, and instead either makes the city relive one day over and over (sounds like the D.Gray-man intro to exorcist Miranda Lotto) or floods a town (or two) with hamsters.

Cermin Putih on the other hand follows a teddy bear who has mysteriously turned into a human. The komikus muses: What does Teddy think about us?
