Bleach 38, Meet the Banchou 4, Goal Den Age 3 of 3 (m&c! 23 March 2011 manga)

Thankfully, Kubo Tite-sensei is still tweeting, but please continue to pray for Japan and/or help Japan.

Bleach 38 (m&c!)

Bleach © Kubo Tite/Shueisha [Serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump]
Published in Indonesia by PT Gramedia/m&c!

Baraggan Luisenbarn's Fracciones attack the four pillars protecting Karakura Town; Soul Reapers Hisagi—Bleach 38's cover boy—Yumichika and Kira manage to defend their pillars, but Ikkaku's crumbles, after the 11th Division 3rd Seat refuses to reveal his bankai in combat.

What will happen to Ichigo's beloved town now?

You follow the anime? Then you have an idea of what happens, or doesn't happen to Karakura-chou.

Meet the Banchou 4 of 12 by Suzuki Nakaba

Friends lend Kongou Banchou their strength to take on the Five Dark Vows, but will it be enough? Survival is at stake in an eerie cave located deep within Mt. Fuji in Meet the Banchou 4.

(Blizzard Axel 10, the other Suzuki Nakaba shounen manga (but with toned-down testosterone), also streets this Wednesday, but blurbed way below.)

Goal Den Age 3 of 3 by Takaoka Eisei & Tsunamoto Masaya

The third DO WANT! m&c! manga is the final Goal Den Age, which not only ups its SRP by over 20% to IDR 20,000/volume, but also sees Kazu picked by the national soccer team, leaving his friends behind. But no need for tears; they all promise to reunite when Japan competes on the world stage. In the meantime, Kazu will have to make good on his promise to bring honor to the Land of the Rising Sun via the football pitch.

Previewing the other finale Go! Hiromi Go! (volume 8), the debuting School Crisis! by Igarashi Kaoru and other continuing series Below The Cut.

Reissues [RE-STO]

Ten shoujo manga—among them, Miyawaki Yukino series (My Fragile Love, NG Boy x Paradise) and an Aoki Kotomi (OMG!) anthology—up for grabs, in case you missed their premieres.

Electric Daisy 5, Rasetsu's Flower 6, Dawn Aria 3 (m&c! 7 July 2010 manga)

Fulfilling my fill in the blanks promise. (I've scattered the covers among the links; happy hunting.)

Electric Daisy 5 (m&c!)

Dengeki Daisy © Motomi Kyousuke/Shogakukan (Serialized in Betsucomi)
Published in Indonesia as Electric Daisy by PT Gramedia/m&c!

Contains [SPOILERS!]

An email virus sent from “DAISY” spreads throughout the school, prompting Kurosaki to try to smoke out the fake hacker. Before Kurosaki can uncover the pretender's identity, he is knocked out when he saves Teru from a shadowy threat too close to lethal for comfort.

The investigation stalled and Kurosaki injured, Teru keeps vigil at the hospital where he is admitted. Realizing just how much Kurosaki means to her, especially now that he has sacrificed himself ... yada yada yada.

The important thing in volume 5 of Motomi Kyousuke's Electric Daisy is: while they are alone in his hospital room, They. Kiss!

Rasetsu's Flower 6 of 8+ by Shiomi Chika

Meanwhile, I do hope there's no such kiss (again) between Hyuga Rasetsu and Iwatsuki Kuryuu, the kotodama-tsukai in Shiomi Chika's Rasetsu's Flower (Rasetsu no Hana). Volume 6 supposedly delves into Kuryuu's past and I could care less. I ship YakouRasetsu all the way, baybeh! (Hoshino Yakou is the water exorcist ex-the prequel Yurara's Moon.)

Dawn Aria 3 of 9+ by Akaishi Michiyo

In m&c!'s latest tankou of Dawn Aria (Akaishi Michiyo's Cherry-serialized josei title), Aria conceals her worries about her left hand from Natsuo and Shirayuki-sensei, but Natsuo matches Aria's secretiveness and eavesdrops on her piano playing. Shirayuki-sensei later uncovers what Aria is hiding and marches her off to a doctor. While there, Sensei receives news of his wife's death.

m&c! released an Akaishi Michiyo-sensei omnibus, The Best Selection of Akaishi Michiyo, last 2 June.

NEW M&C! TITLES: Confirmation as promised

Yes, Shiiba Nana's Gorgeous Twins is Gokujou Twins, the title alluding to the dupe pair who caused Sara's trauma and who have now returned, more gor-jus! than ever, to make her life even more miserable (or so she thinks). Shiiba Nana's other m&c!-released shoujo manga standalones include Prince Romantica and The Underground Kids.

Chiba Kozue's Love Letter is Hidarite no Love Letter, in which Nishino and Minami Taiga exchange left hand romantic scribbles, the “love letters” of the title. Chiba Kozue is the manga-ka of 24 Colors or 24 Colors - Hatsukoi no Palette and Let's Meet at School Tonight (Yoru no Gakkou e Oide Yo!).

It turns out Wao Akira's Sayaka's Special Attack, Big Victory! is Tokkou Sayaka Bucchigiri, which finds Sayaka on a fund-raising drive to prevent her school from closing, meeting a singer slash savior who offers to help her raise money if she becomes his girlfriend. (Even though Sayaka already has Aoi.)

Other Sayaka... titles include prequels Yankee Girl (Tokkou Sayaka Yoroshiku) and Sayaka, I Love You! (Tokkou Sayaka I Love You) that relate the progress of Sayaka and Aoi's romance.

(I don't think that there was any doubt Welcome to Lovers Café Marina by Kitamura Yuuka could have been anything other than Lovers Café Marina ni Youkoso, set in a café that holds all sorts events for couples.)

Finally, there are the first two volumes of Foot 2 Rue: Street Soccer bande dessinée/BDs (Franco-Belgian comics that m&c! calls AMERO comics and Level Comics, ROMICs), which intensify the current soccer mania.

Meet the Banchou shounen manga volume 1 by Suzuki Nakaba (m&c! street date: 5 May 2010)

On the cover is series protagonist Kongoh Akira, described LOLariously by TV Tropes as a a ten-to-twelve-foot-tall mountain of muscle with incredibly spiky Anime Hair, mile-wide shoulders, and a stare that could cut bread.

Meet the Banchou 1 (m&c!)

Kongoh Bancho © Suzuki Nakaba/Shogakukan (First serialized in Shonen Sunday)
Published in Indonesia as Meet the Banchou by PT Gramedia/m&c!

Meet the Banchou 1 of 10

By Suzuki Nakaba
Original title: 金剛番長 (Kongoh Bancho)
AKA Diamond Delinquent
Shogakukan, originally serialized in Shonen Sunday, shounen
Volume 1 first released in Japan 2008.02
Published in Indonesia 2010.05 by Gramedia/m&c!

Synopsis

Japan enters a dark era, a time that sees the emergence of the “23 District Project.” Kongou Banchou appears to stop the ominous venture, even if he has to fight all the banchou in the country. The first banchou he clashes with is Iai Banchou.

Okay, I realize m&c!'s blurb is a little skimpy on wha-wha-what?! detail, so let me reiterate/borrow again TV Tropes' blurb for this badass gang leader fighting series:

May contain [SPOILERS]

Kongoh... has come to stop something called “The 23 District Project”. This involves people called “Bancho”, people who have exceptional fighting skills as well as great amounts of charisma ... fighting for control of the 23 districts of Japan. (The word “bancho” itself is usually used to refer to the leader of a delinquent gang, and all Bancho wear Japanese school uniform jackets, in one form or another.) Whosoever conquers them all will be given control of Japan and will be able to mold its future to their liking.

He later ends up defeating one of the Bancho - Iai Bancho, a master of iaijutsu. He is then told that defeating a bancho means you gain their territory and are now part of the 23 District Project, whether you want to be or not, and is given his new title by his defeated opponent: Kongoh Bancho.

Blizzard Axel 8 partial front cover (m&c!)

Meet the Banchou is another Shonen Sunday serial from Suzuki Nakaba-sensei who also created Blizzard Axel. Going by the series' covers alone, it would take a leap to conclude they were both illustrated by one person. Compare the Meet the Banchou 1 art with the Isn't it a little wimpy?, ice skating themed Blizzard Axel volume 8 cover on the right:)

Meet the Banchou 1 contains chapters*:

  1. 金剛晄現る!! (Kongo Akira(?) Appears!)
  2. 金剛番長 (Kongo Boss)
  3. 23区計画 (23 District Project)
  4. 鮮血の花びら (Petals of blood)
  5. 金剛番長vs居合番長 (Boss vs Boss)
  6. 激闘の幕開け (Beginning of the fierce fighting)

*Tentative chapter translations only (c/o Google)
