Chinmi Other Story: Chinmi & Shie Fan by Maekawa Takeshi, Hayate The Combat Butler 25 (Elex Media 28 June 2011 manga) - UPDATED: Topeng Kaca 14 Deluxe postponed

Update: Miuchi Suzue's Topeng Kaca 14 Deluxe postponed to 6 July

Chinmi Other Story: Chinmi & Shie Fan (Elex Media)

Tekken Chinmi Gaiden 3 © Maekawa Takeshi/Kodansha
[Serialized in Monthly Shonen Magazine]
Published in Indonesia as Chinmi Other Story: Chinmi & Shie Fan by Elex Media

Some time before the martial arts tournament, who should present herself before Chinmi's strongest rival Shie Fan but a girl named Fu Ren. What lessons can Shie Fan teach this disciple?

If the Chinmi Other Story: Chinmi & Shie Fan synopsis above sounds familiar, congratulate yourself on being a true blue Telor Ceplok regular. Yup, that's the summary for Shonen Magz 5 (released 4 May), in which Chinmi Other Story grabbed the spotlight.

That this third volume of the Tekken Chinmi Gaiden side story series leads means it was the Elex Most Wanted manga for the 28th (yup, releases a day early because the 29th is the Isra' Miraj public holiday). Wonder when Elex will release volumes 1 and 2 though? Well, whenever they street, you get other stories of Chinmi's childhood in this Chinmi Other Story: Chinmi & Shie Fan tankou. (I do hope you know the prequels? Kungfu Boy? New Kungfu Boy?)

Hayate The Combat Butler 25 of 28+ by Hata Kenjiro

No longer an heiress Nagi returns from Greece only to told to vacate her grandfather's posh mansion within one week. Low on funds, she doesn't have much in the way of choice. But her trusty butler Hayate promises to do all he can to find them new digs, even if it means selling his body to the highest bidder!

Aren't you glad to see Hayate The Combat Butler after more than half a year? I thought so. Indulge, indulge in chapters 262 through 272 :D

Other Elex newbies: Another Doraemon Movie manga

Aside from Chinmi Other Story: Chinmi & Shie Fan, Elex double-launches Doraemon Movie: Nobita & Pahlawan Bersayap (First and Last) by Fujiko F. Fujio, based on the 2001 movie, Doraemon: Nobita and the Winged Braves (Nobita to tsubasa no yūsha-tachi).

Nobita, desiring to fly, DIYs some kewl wings. While testing his invention, he crashes into bird man Gusuke who suddenly appears in the same sky. Giant and Suneo try to capture Gusuke and are trapped in a dimension tunnel, prompting Nobita, Doraemon and Shizuka to chase the pair all the way to the bird people's home world.

What adventures will Nobita and friends find in Birdpia?

Well, for one, they will have to locate the legendary hero Icarus to save Birdpia from General Jigrid and a Phoenician assault.

Also, look forward to the final story of Yohan, Minje and Empyo in Hwang MiRee's Want You (previewed after the release list).

Vampire Knight 5, Hello Master 2, Fullmetal Alchemist 24 (Elex 20 October 2010 manga)

ヴァンパイア騎士 5

Vampire Knight © Hino Matsuri/Hakusensha [Serialized in LaLa]
Published in Indonesia by Elex Media

Yeah, yeah, you know the manga threesome above equals top DO WANT!, but did you also catch how manhwa-ga Hwang MiRee tried to make off with this sked? She snuck in not one, not two, but three! soonjung manhwa into Elex's 10.20 list, one of them the debuting Want You. So if we add Idol Shopping 4, streeting over on m&c!'s side, it will really be—as noted by tweet friend freekenari-san—a Serangan HMR! for the 20th.

Be that as it may, no one, not even HMR's Themedes (or Thaion) nor Lee Jin (or Kubilai), is gonna dislodge Vampire Knight's Kyaaa~! Kaname-samaaa~! from First Blurb.

[SPOILAGE!]

Vampire Knight 5 of 12+ by Hino Matsuri

(Sasuga) Kaname-sama pierces Hio Shizuka's heart with his bare hand, but the murder is laid squarely at My Hero Zero's feet. A vampire council envoy is sent to execute our vampire hunter. Can Zero escape punishment for a crime he didn't commit?

If you follow HanaLaLa, you might've already read the volume 5 chapters: Twentieth Night: Game Over, Twenty First Night: Guilty, Twenty Second Night: The Changed & The Unchanged Twenty Third Night: The Lost Lamb and Twenty Fourth Night: “Little” Incident.

And speaking of HanaLaLa, you'll have to settle for this Vampire Knight tankou (and prolly also Hello Master 2, blurbed along with Fullmetal Alchemist 24 below the Fake Cut) for your LaLa or LaLa DX fix because there's no word yet on when HanaLaLa 53 will street.

New Elex titles: Our Dear Tamura-kun, RINNE and Want You

Elex premieres three series: Our Dear Tamura-kun, Kurafuji Sachi's manga adapt of Takemiya Yuyuko's Watashitachi no Tamura-kun light novels, RINNE, Takahashi Rumiko's latest SS serial that skips over a Shonen Star-First installment and Want You — apparently, yet another reverse harem from Hwang MiRee.

Want You 1 (Elex Media)

by Elex Media

Because Want You already insinuated itself into the intro (not to mention how Elex listed volumes 1-4 in the September Komikologi), I'm indulging the “fashionably late” debut by giving it the Above the Cut spot. (In any case, I already spotlighted RINNE here.)

Disaster befalls orphaned tomboy Kang Herem's new home, but this is exactly the blessing in disguise she's been waiting for: Herem wants to go see her crush, who also happens to be her cousin.

Will Herem be reunited with her first love when moves into her uncle's house in Seoul?

Mangazines: Nakayoshi Gress! 85 and Shonen Star 74

Little Marchen (Märchen-chan), a shoujo fantasy comedy from Ogawa and Team Saito's Sakyo debuts in Nakayoshi Gress! 85. Shonen Star 74, meanwhile, premieres Inoue Kazurou's Magical Iroha but reserves the cover for Adachi Mitsuru's Katsu!. (Covers and babble after the ongoing series previews waaay below.)

Nakayoshi 85/2010 premieres Little Marchen and Little Shugo Chara!

Nakayoshi Gress 85/2010

The latest Indonesian Nakayoshi debuts Little Marchen or Märchen-chan by Sakyo, alongside PEACH-PIT's Little Shugo Chara!, now that the main Shugo Chara! has concluded (wrapped in NakaGress! 84 with Boy Friend by Yamada Daisy).

Little Marchen is the story of Maria Date, a half-Scottish girl who, rumors have it, can see fairies. Meanwhile, Shugo Chara-chan! (at least, that's what I assume Little Shugo Chara! used to be) is a 4-koma manga based on Shugo Chara!. This first installment credits one Naftalen Mizushima as author, but Baka-Updates Manga lists these other Nakayoshi manga-ka as collaborators on this gag manga: Abe Yuriko, Ando Natsumi, Eto Miyuki, Kikuta Michiyo, Sakyo and Toyama Ema. Ando Natsumi, Kikuta Michiyo and Toyama Ema manga also appear in this issue, along with the current Nakayoshi pals:

I assume that Dua Pangeran Bintang by Hanamori Pink and New Hell Girl by Etoo Miyuki are still around, despite being conspicuously silent.

Shonen Star 74/2010 ☆ KATSU! by Adachi Mitsuru

Shonen Star 74/2010 - Front cover: KATSU!

Shoken gym opens and Satoyama and Mizutani join up. Riko attempts everything to ensure that Satoyama seriously pursues the pro boxing dreams of her idol, Satoyama papa Akamatsu Ryusuke. So much so that it piques Mizutani in the latest chapter of Adachi Mitsuru's sports manga Katsu!

Premiering this issue is Inoue Kazurou's Magical Iroha (Mahou no Iroha!) comedy, about middle schooler Naoki who about suffers a heart attack when he receives a surprising visitor in Iroha, the girl claiming to be his daughter from the future.

by Elex Media

Elex advises 72 manga and manhwa tentatives for September, eight of which are premieres and at least four, finales, and makes good on 24 for a 33% fulfillment rate.

Expected to debut per the latest Komikologi: Bakeru-kun by Fujiko F. Fujio; Defense Devil by Youn InWan & Yang KyungIl (ongoing serialization in Shonen Star); Global Garden by Hiwatari Saki (Please Save My Earth manga-ka); MIXIM 11 (the Anzai Nobuyuki shounen adventure “famed” for its Unpopular Protagonist); Thorny Rules (Ibara no Okite) by Yukimura Yuni (Serial Cantik standalone); Topeng Kaca Deluxe by Miuchi Suzue (Glass no Kamen bunko); Tsuba Kiyo - 28K4 (Saikyou Seitokai Tsubakiyo) by Hara Asumi (concluded serialization in NakaGress!); and soonjung manhwa Want you by Hwang MiRee; and You Are So Cool by Lee YoungHee.

As there are only 3 × September weekly releases (no 8th and 15th deliveries because of the Idul Fitri holidays), I don't expect these premieres—nor even a fraction of the earlier-advised new titles such as A Little More to Edo, Traumeister or Hello Master—to ship this month. But then again, I've been known to get things wrong.

Edit: Got it (partially) wrong; Global Garden 1, Hello Master 1 and Libero Revolution!! 13 of 13 (below) street 22 September.

Meanwhile, this early, Elex has already banked one finale: Iori Tabasa's Kunai Legend (volume 4), albeit this being an August fallout like Amagi Seimaru- & Sato Fumiya's Kindaichi Special Case: The Phantom Of The Opera 3rd Murder (volume 2) and Tanaka Motoyuki's Libero Revolution!! (volume 13). The September-proper series awaiting curtains is actually Uno Hiroshi's Kaiser Z (volume 16). And despite having been penciled in for September, Natsume Yoshinori's Kurozakuro (volume 7 of 7) and Hwang MiRee's New Sexy Simpleton (volume 9 of 9) series wraps remain contingent on their predecessors' delays nashi deliveries, and as such, highly unlikely to reach stores this month.

Also, teh usual mangazines: Shonen Magz, Shonen Star (2x), Nakayoshi and HanaLaLa.

For blurbs, wait for the weekly releases; the full Elex list, however, is behind the fake cut.
